Just cracked 220k and a fresh MOT with Michelin energy saver plus on the front. I think they are lighter than OEM tyres just not the uber low rolling resistance.

I just found this video randomly as an insight on eBay has a video embedded in the ad. Richard Hammond driving my very car!

I'd contact Top Gear and tweet the hamster as well. They might be interested in your experience and high mileage.

Cheers! Really enjoyed that one, Peter had some fascinating information. Looking to drive one soon and speak to some more owners. Think Honda's actually got a high-mileage example on its fleet, so may investigate that.

Always enjoy reading the updates about yours here. Great to seem them being used as intended and I like hearing about the modifications and performance.

Yes Mr Hammond it's a dangerous and pack..... Look away now!

This was the new pack charging before fitment at 160k, it's a yellow stick pack so a recent one from honda replaced under warranty, I rang honda with the plate of the donor car we broke as a group of UK and seems it was replaced in 2009. BONUS!

Fitting the controller previous to the pack change.

Not much space but I've managed a few successes over the years!

I recall someone on Insight Central clocked past 480,000 miles a few years ago. http://www.insightcentral.net/forum...scussion/18347-highest-mileage-insight-4.html Wonder how that car's doing now?

Some Hondas will clock up ludicrous mileages if looked after.

Guy with a 2006 Civic just past 1,100,000 miles here: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/mech...6765-800-000-miles-still-going-strong-87.html . It has needed a new head gasket recently though.

My Gen 2 Insight's treating me reasonably well (now 6 years old at 70k - only non consumable has been a leaking rear shock so far). Still would have preferred it if they did a manual version though.

I see Suzuki have now launched a 'mild' (boost only) hybrid - the Belino and it's cheaper than the non-hybrid version (1.2l hybrid vs 1.0l turbo). Manual gearbox too. Was wondering when someone else would get around to it.

The 1st Gen Insight was a bit of a one off though. Very uncompromising design. I'd happily have one if we weren't a family of 4.

260k today! I have a very stuck handbrake though thanks to the ally collar on the drum brake expanding and pinching the cable. Will have to free it off.

Found it's twin at work parked nearby. A few weeks ago I actually went up to it and pulled the door handle, resulting in a few seconds a of WTF as I realised it wasn't mine.

The guy I sold mine to worked in the automotive business. I wonder if it's my old one. :p
