So you are allowed to use bits of circuit that are not the race track to gain an advantage, but not to avoid a collision? You are arguing for the sake of it because you don't like McLaren.

Your right I detest Mclaren but have nothing against Hamilton, I actually think he is a good driver. At least he kept it on the road when 'others' managed to find the wall!

When he let Kimi back past he stayed pretty close behind, not saying thats a valid reason, but looking at it that way, you could just completely overshoot a corner to get past someone, then let them back through and stick to their gearbox. Therefore gaining an advantage.

At last someone who can see the point of the penalty. If they let this slide - drivers would cut corners at every opportunity... ;)

Watch the footage again. Raikenen clearly moves right over forceing either an accident/damage or LH to cut the chicane.

He didn't have much choice in the matter from what I saw

I am pretty sure about this, now you can correct me if i am wrong, but an F1 driver, they have their left foot on something, what's it called again, Ohhh yeah, a brake pedal. ;)

I can't believe this, what an absolute farce. I want to see some official detailed explanation on why this decision was given.

"While the stewards are probing the Bus Stop chicane and La Source incident, it is believed Ferrari have also taken exception to a separate element of Hamilton's racing tactics."

Ferrari are really bad losers.

Right OK, did Ron Dennis call the rain down and force KR to park his car in the wall too !?!?!?!

The FIA have got it wrong. What is the point in watching F1 anymore with such inconsistent penalties. They are certainly not making F1 any more exciting.

So this just opens up the door for drivers to push another car off the track, forcing them to cut the chicane, then if they don't stick to your gearbox themselves, just slow down and force them to, and get them a 25 second penalty.

Master of logic.

He was forced off by Kimi, the only way he could have avoided it was by smashing into Kimi, he then gave the position back as required, Kimi was in 1st as they went over the line, it's a joke.

Ok, Kimi could have just braked more heavily and stuck to the track rather than using the run-off as a 'slingshot'....

Wouldn't have done any good when you're alongside the other car with interlocking wheels

Back to the drawing board for that argument :p

I'm not a fan of anyone, I haven't been since the early 90's when Mansell retired - I just enjoy good racing. That was good racing, and the FIA have spoiled it with a poor decision.

Even if I was the biggest Ferrari die-hard fan in the world I wouldn't be ecstatic about this decision, it can't be seen as good for the sport.

I don't understand Ferarri don't have any penalty given to them for an unsafe pit exit yet LH get's penalised for following the rules?

Back to BTCC :p
