No, but going into a corner when you are not going to make it, you can press the brake pedal.

He CLEARLY could have made it if Kimi hadnt cut him out - even so even Charlie Whiting (the race director if you dont know) thought McLaren had done enough to NOT be penalised after LH allowed Kimi to go back ahead of him after the corner

Massa's pitlane antics in the last race investigated after the race earn him a fine

Hamilton gets 25 seconds. Unbelievable!

Utter farce. The Hamilton didn't gain an advantage, he was already SIGNIFICANTLY quicker than KR, he gave the place back and to do that he HAD to slow down. The FIA are a disgrace to the sport, KR was hugely aggressive, tagged LH's rear tyre a dummy-spit moment after beign overtaken. He also breached the rules about defending a position by weaving all over the place. But his car is the right colour I suppose...

If FM wins the title by less than 9 points, it will be a sham, simple as and I hope that if this is the case, Hamilton sacks it off, tells them to stuff it and races in the States or something. Get Ron to move McLaren to Indy - it really would suit everyone. Ferrari would be allowed to win all of the races, no nasty silver cars in the way, making the stewards have to step in to help the red cars win when they aren't good enough.

Apart from the fact that the championship is even closer now, so surely that is better for the sport unless u are a LH/Mclaren fan of course.

I always want to see the best driver win on the day it was either Hamilton or Kimi, I would have been happy if either of them took the win.

Lets face it Hamilton was in a lose-lose situation, even if he had stayed on track and smashed Kimi for cutting him up he would've got a 10 place grid penalty in Monza, not that it happens when Kimi ruins someones race around Monaco.

That Moncao incident, I dont think he could avoid it in all fairness. Coming out of the tunel the car was unstabled under breaking. You saw Kimi trying to fight the car but the car at this point even stable and pointing in the right direction would'nt of stopped in time without hitting Sutil.

The same can be said about Hamilton smashing into the back of Kimi in the pitlane (Germany was it? I cant really remember). That was even worse than the Monaco incident! Atleast Kimi was stationary :p

Hamilton almost ahead at the breaking point for the chicaine. KR should have given him more space as it's obvious he was there however:

Kimi left him no room. Cutting the chicane was the only way to avoid collision. Maybe he could have braked but that may have caused a collision.

Kimi makes contact after Hamilton passes him again, even though Kimi had the wide line to avoid going over the curb in the first place.

Sad day. Its the only sport I follow and now I just can't be bothered. It is interesting however that Ferrari must be the team that has had their cars pointing the wrong way more than other teams this season.

I haven't read the rest of the thread, but I wonder how often in the last 15 minutes the words "Ferrari International Assistance" have been said on here..

McLaren should appeal, and should win. Tbh, Hamilton took the sensible option of avoiding a crash, let Kimi pass and didn't pass against until La Source. Even as a Ferrari fan, I can't help but feel sorry for McLaren here, as much as I want aclose title fight.

F1 has completely lost all its integrity and I can imagine the press furore thats going to happen

If there was a logical penalty then thats one thing - but to give the race win (and a 2nd place) to people who where nowhere near being as fast as him is beyond stupidity

I really hope McLaren kick up a stink

An absolute ****ing **** decision. Earlier on, i KNEW this was going to go Ferrari's way - as it has done a thousand times before. I'm so ****ed off about this. Hamilton worked bloody hard for that victory, yet the FIA are always there to bail Ferrari out when they lose.

Yet another typically corrupt, cynical ploy by the FIA who are desperate to keep the tension going until they can guarantee another Ferrari World Championship.

If makes drug taking in athletics seem like the height of probity.

In "Real Life" people would go to jail for this sort of fraudulent behaviour.
