Hamilton almost ahead at the breaking point for the chicaine. KR should have given him more space as it's obvious he was there however:
Whoever it was had a fair point of setting a precedent of just blasting through chicanes as long as you didn't overtake, but those shots show he was already right on his tail on entering the chicane so it's pretty clear he didn't end up closer to him after Hamilton let him past on the exit.

What's the finiancial situation these days between F1 and Ferrari?

It is my personal opinion that Hamilton gained a massive advantage at the chicaine. Sure he let KR back ahead over the start/finish line, but it was less then a cars length.

Without the incident at the chicaine, Hamilton would not have been as close to Kimi and would not have overtaken him on the straight.

Still once it rained I believe Hamilton would have eventualyl got ahead.

He deserves some punishment but i think stripping the win is harsh. It was awesome to watch.

Personally knowing that their drivers/cars do not work well in the wet I do not see why Ferrari didn't pit one of their drivers for intermediates. It became clear with 2 laps to go that they would make up over 30seconds per lap. This was mentioned by the commentators, I've sure the Ferrari boys would have spotted it slightly sooner. Same goes for McLaren. Gone are the days it seems of Michael Schumacher and Ross Brawn at Bennetton pulling off amazing strategies that their opponents never saw coming. Both McLaren and Ferrari are far too conservative and miss many opportunities.

F1 has completely lost all its integrity ....

The FIA has no integrity, its always the case some thing happens to a red car, the silver car is at faulty.

I really hope that McLaren kicks up a sting about it, if Massa wins the title this year we all know that the FIA wants Ferrair to win.

It sucks.

Wouldn't have done any good when you're alongside the other car with interlocking wheels

Back to the drawing board for that argument :p

Wheels don't look interlocked to me  In fact, LH's front is in line or even behind Kimi's rear.

Now at this point he could have hit the brakes and went behind kimi, like he would have had to do in monaco or valencia, or just take a turn to the left, and maybe get a wee bit of an advantage.

I dunno if the decision was right or not tbh. The drive through would have been an appropriate penalty for such a thing. The debate is, did hamilton actually 'yield' the position back. He didn't make it easy tbh.

Yep by staying on Kimi, then being able to close a 4 second gap in 2 laps and go on to overtake him and win the race - i'd say that is bloody good work tbh.

Granted, he made a bit of a race of it but would he have actually passed Kimi in the last 2 laps had there not been rain? We'll never know I guess. I punched the air when LH spun and that turned to despair to see KR doing the same, never known such a change of emotion in such a short space of time :D

Look guys, the thing is if it had been the other way round most of you would have wanted Kimi punished. It was pretty clear that Lewis did not back off enough after the chicane, he should have let some distance between him and Kimi; god knows he was fast enough and would've caught up with him quickly the truth is he is still inexperienced and impatient. If you really can't stand the sport so much don't watch it; there are always two sides to a story and I doubt how objectively people can argue on a forum where most people are from the UK!

Yes, he let KR back past by less than a car length, but it's clearly shown earlier in the thread that he was more than half a car length ahead before KR forced him off the track,

So, after letting someone past, who's a fair bit slower than you, after they've forced you off the track, just how long do you have to wait to let them pass, 1 corner, 3, couple of laps, till the next race weekend?

What a joke.

Was this investigation started before or after the race?

Usually we see a little thing coming up saying it's being investigated or hear something but I may have missed it after watching the awesome action (which now is not awesome at all...)

McLaren should publish the telemetry of Hamilton lifting the throttle slightly. Just to make the FIA look like the idiots that they are.

Why isn't KR getting punished for attempting to spin or puncture Hamilton's rear tyre?

To give their punishment of LH some credibility maybe?

edit read that wrong
