Apart from alledged "brake testing" i cant see Alonso doing anything to damage his status as a driver just to help Massa.

Alonso didn't brake test Hamilton, Hamilton just drove into the back of Alonso for no reason!

Assuming you are talking about Bahrain.

But the fact remains he hasnt got a history of doing anything underhanded. Hamilton however, does.

I feel that the British public have been brainwashed into hating Alonso, for no apparent reason. Its more than unfair.

MS, Prost and Senna have a history of taking people off the track. Alonso, doesnt.

I think your mistaking me for a Hamilton fan, I'm simply calling it the way i see it from Alonso's own comments.

Looking forward to tomorrow,100% push on RB5 plus a very promising new driver. This season was a nitemare pretty much after Silverstone.

Yes it is underhanded.

Throughout the season, McLaren (and probably other teams), all have an established system as to who goes out first/last in Q3.

In Hungary 2007, it was Alonso's turn to go out first and get the better run. However, Hamilton disobeyed team orders and went out ahead of Alonso. This is what angered Ron Denis.
Alonso retaliated immediately and blocked the pit area, which prevented Hamilton from getting another run of qualifying. This led to Alonso getting pole.
The FIA then got involved and demoted Alonso. Ron Denis was angry at both his drivers.
Alonso then threatened to leak info to the FIA. Ron Denis then "shopped" his own team.
It all snow-balled from there.

The fact that Hamilton disobeyed the established system, was very underhanded.

Two wrongs dont make a right - maybe Hamilton was wrong, but Alonso was equally in the wrong being the more experienced /mature driver getting"his own back"

Apart from this, numerous quotes in recent weeks have been barely veiled threats from him towards LH and McLaren , saying he will do anything to gift the title to Massa

Against anyone else I think Alonso would be more fair, but McLaren /LH - and it being only last year from when he feels so betrayed......yes he is definitely capable

You don't consider the pitt incident last year as underhand then?

Nope. Hamilton started it and the reigning World Champ ended it. Unfortunately, the FIA decided to interfere and demoted Alonso to 6th (I think it was).

Like I stated in an earlier post, McLaren have a strategy during qualifying which dictates who leaves the pits first during Q3. It was Alonso's turn and despite knowing this, Hamilton decided to go out ahead of Alonso instead. Ron Denis was allegedly fuming at this. Hamilton allegedly swore at Ron Denis. Denis was unhappy at both of his drivers' antics after Alonso held up Hamilton in the pits, in response to Hamilton's earlier trick.

I wouldve done exactly the same thing as Alonso. As the reigning World Champ, I wouldnt expect some young upstart to get the better of me. If he messes with me, I will mess with him and the next time, he will think twice. If it was Senna or Mansell (in Alonso's place), they would've decked Hamilton. No joke.

The British media dont seem to pick up on these little facts. Strange that.

It was absolutely essential that Alonso get his own back. Otherwise, before long you would find Hamilton attempting to intimidate Alonso at every turn. After all the fuss, Hamilton NEVER tried the same trick again. Had Alonso simply laid down, Hamilton would probably have pulled the same trick again.

Like I said, if it was Senna or Mansell in Alonso's place, Hamilton wouldve been physically threatened. In the 21st century though, this sort've thing doesnt happen.

I find it amusing though that you are defending Hamilton's actions by saying, "2 wrongs dont make a right", even though Hamilton was the guy who started it all.

I doubt he will do anything on the track. He has no history of this sort of thing (unlike MS, Senna or Prost) and I dont see it starting now. He is playing mind games with Hamilton and Hamilton will definitely be weary of Alonso as a result. Hamilton isnt mentally as strong as say an Alonso or MS. This is why we see pressure getting to Hamilton, regularly. Alonso knows this.

In the 80s, this sort of goading would be quite normal.

Senna and Mansell to be fair were from a different breed of drivers, i dont think any of the current drivers would have put up much of a fight to the likes of Senna,Piquet,Mansell.
