Nope they didn't use it during the season & not allowed to use it for the final race! Bit silly if you ask me.

Any idea why this joker-engine cant be used in the final race?

Also, are the Ferrari cars going to be using a brand new engine for this race?

Silly addition to a silly FIA rule? :p

iirc both Ferrari's were on their second engine last race, whilst Hamilton at least was on his first, so yes new engines for Ferrari and old one for Hamilton...

...however Ferrari are not adding any new aero and McLaren have 6 new bits just for this race

Should be interesting :)

However it was recently reported that the difference between an engine being used for its first race and its 2nd is pretty minimal these days, and as LH doesnt have to win hopefully it shouldnt matter at all (obviously wont stop him from trying to win if he can)

Ah im gonna miss you guys til March!

Is it just me or has this fortnight taken forever!?!? :D

Yay to no more adverts and no more fathead, but boooo to there being no F1 for 5 months :(

I really hope Lewis can do it, but the conspiracy theorist in me says theres a hefty big chance he wont, either due to his own hotheadedness, or Fred/Kimi/wall/random thing taking him out.

I also hope DC can finish his last race. :)

Heres to a good weekend!

You can work here for 5 months knip :) I will put my feet up and you wont miss F1 , Win,Win!

Hamilton will want to beat Massa at his home GP to make the victory more sweeter, but in doing so will make a big **** up, by ending up in the gravel or getting a puncture..

Can see it already.

You're on! :D
You might have my Dad in over the winter break, his company are quite heavily involved in the KERS stuff and hes been going to Renault recently. Unless one of the other company employees is dealing with you lot!
:p

MS arrived at Ferrari, where Ferrari had not won a WDC since 1979. He arrived and 4 years later they got their first WDC in over 2 decades. This cannot be a coincidence. The driver makes a HUGE difference, as do the technical team and their team principals.

The MS example is not a great one considering that most of the World Championship winning Benetton team came along with him!

Hopefully I can enjoy a nice exciting race with no dodgy decisions or dirty driving. I'd still like Hamilton to win, but not by default I want him to actually race this weekend not just settle for 4th/5th.

Got £5 on Massa, so I can console myself with that if he wins :)

Yes, the Ferraris are one a new engine for this race.

And the joker can't be used for the last race to prevent teams making a "1 race special" engine. But, as we've already established, Ferrari (and other teams) are on a new engine this weekend - so it makes no sense!
