Personally, I'd really rather Massa didn't get it. I'm not one for predictions normally, but I hope Lewis does the business. He'll either drive away from the field as in China, or give a measured 2nd or 3rd place drive for the points. I'd like to think he's learnt enough, and matured a bit since last year and can drive the points game.

Plus, Massa is a whinging twazzock who can't drive in the rain. So there! :p

If its wet I cant see the Ferrari's doing anything apart from going backwards

Not only is it the 2nd race for Lewis's engine, its the third for his gearbox also

Hope its a good clean race (with no stupid steward's descisions fowling up the result)

I think it's relatively safe to say that the stewards won't make a crazy controversial decision that would strip a driver of a world title. The backlash would be too immense to begin to contemplate!

Are we still talking about the FIA/stewards? Im getting confused :D

Stripping Hamilton of a victory - crazy, stupid yes, but at the end of the day it's only a race win, and it was in fitting with a season of stupid penalties.

I really, honestly cannot see something like that happening... Let's say LH overtakes someone, and is potentially deemed to have cut onto the curb too much (i.e. like James Allen was mentioning in the commentary for the 2nd chicane, just before Lesmo 1 at Monza).

Will the FIA really make an announcement 3 or 4 hours after the race is over, Lewis's dad and brother have waved him the chequered flag to drop him *just enough* places to strip him of the world title?

I'm inclined to believe a lot of bad things about the FIA, even moreso since they tried to stop the BBC hiring Brundle, who is the only guy currently on the scene who says-it-like-it-is enough to worry them, but I honestly can't see them doing that.

I think your faith in the FIA stewards is misguided - but I hope you are right

(while at the time it wasnt a Championship changing decision, the 6 point swing they effectively gave Massa at Spa is a fundamental change in said Championship, and not to mention the "extra" win that counts in Massa's favour if countback becomes important)

Hamilton will want to beat Massa at his home GP to make the victory more sweeter, but in doing so will make a big **** up, by ending up in the gravel or getting a puncture..

If its a dry track, based on the past 2 Brazillian GPs, Massa should completely dominate it. Expect nothing less than a win from him.

The MS example is not a great one considering that most of the World Championship winning Benetton team came along with him!

I think its a good one, as he was still instrumental in getting the winning mentality at Ferrari going.

Without MS, there is absolutely noway that Brawn and Byrne would've had the impact they did. As an example, Brawn has now arrived at Honda and you seeing just how competitive those 2 drivers are.

Also, during those Bennetton and Ferrari years, you can see that MS's team mates didnt get a look in. I know that some people believe that they were told not to win, but that wouldnt have stopped them from finishing every race within a few seconds of his gearbox.

People also talk about MS's team mates becomming de-motivated. My take on this is that a top class driver will always find a level of motivation that makes him fast and competitive. Its impossible to demotivate Senna, Mansell, Hamilton, Alonso, etc. The top drivers generally rise to the top, even if driving 2nd rate cars. For example, we have seen Alonso deliver 2 wins in a poor car, this year.

But anyway, lets leave the, "whose the best, he's the best, no he's crap" talk till after the GP. We have 5 months to squabble over that argument. ;)

Hamiltons surprise maturity and pace at the last race could go against that prediction if he can carry it into this GP. He's been under the media radar regarding this race compared to Massa.

It does have the potential to be a very exciting race but Lewis would be a fool to go for the silverware other than the WDC in this race unless all the pre-race sessions showed him to be way ahead of the pace.

The last race came as no surprise to me. The problem with Hamilton AND Massa is when they aren't leading. They tend to get involved in silly scraps and lose big chunks of time. Its very rare for either of them to be in the minor places and then come through to finish strong. When they are leading the GP from the start, they tend to bring it home.

Hence, what happened at China doesnt change anything. We need to see Hamilton battling for the minor places (after an incident) and then storming through.

Did you watch the Italian GP?
