Im sitting and watching it again, just cos!
:D
At least this time I know the result and wont be watching it having a heart attack!

I've been doing the same thing over and over again on Youtube. It's just that bit where Martin says "Is that Glock? Is that Glock?!" that makes me all tingly.

Anyone else think there should be some kind of championship presentation at the last race? Seems the appropriate time to do it. Is there an actual presentation ceremony later in the year or something?

Wow, I see OcUK has provided another F1 thread of opinionated tosh and petty arguments.

Im going to go elsewhere and celebrate that a British Driver in a British Team has won the Formula 1 World Drivers Championship.

.... before Max ruins the sport for good.

Hey! Some of us are happy thankyou! :D

If the Renault engine had not been hampered by the FIA ruling on lockdowns, then they would have certainly made a strong challenge. Alonso is probably the rawest talent in F1 and performed wonders with the tools he was given.

Hmm, that's a bit of a sore point. The Renault must have picked up 40bhp ... from improved reliability. A bit of Alonso development and some new barge boards don't make you that much quicker at the end of the season. Same goes for the official FIA(t) team. Faulty batch of conrods my arse.

Yet another case of blatant rule bending that goes unpunished. I can see why Max wants a standardised engine, even if it's a preposterous idea to the manufacturers who bought up all the independents.

Sad to see DC go out like that.

While we are on the subject of DC, do you think he has slighlty under achieved? Could he/should he have won a title?

There were times during his career where he had the tools at his disposal, but he also found himself at his peak in a very competative era.

No they arent - been a lot of engine reliability changes that somehow have improved the engine performance as one of the results - pure coincidence?

Stupidly it seems Renault and Honda took the rule literally while others bent them slightly...

ps3ud0

No it hampered Honda, they had a powerfull engine that they had to seriously wind back to make the regulations other wise the engine wouldn't last two races.

I dont think it's the reliabilty rule changes that hurt renault, more likely tighter rules on traction control and launch control which was their forte.

Side tracking abit. Does anyone thing they will release a 1:18 model of his Charity liveried car, and if so do you recon any money from the sales would go to the Wings for Life Charity?

If so, I would definately purchase one. Hes the most successfull british (and possibly ever) F1 driver to never win a title, is genuine in what he says, and the Wings for Life car is for a good cause, unlike the lates F1 'green' rubbish.

DC is a great test driver that somehow or other has had a long career being a great test driver. It was proved at williams after a year he wasn't going to cut it. Then at mclaren it repeated itself.

DC was lucky in that he drove at two different teams with a chance to win the title in the best car. He just wasn't ruthless enough and spent too long accepting the mclaren dollar to play second fiddle at a team he knew he would always play rear gunner (even if he ahead of his team mate).

The one thing you can say for alonso is atleast he spotted it and got out instead of taking the money.

The DC that discovered a personality at red bull was 50 times more interesting than the one at Mclaren. Shame it was too little too late.

At McLaren HQ.

Could that be more to do with Alonsos talent than the car - his team mate still no where using the same machinery...

I just dont see the Renault being as good or better than the McLaren over the season...

ps3ud0

Hamilton scored 19, Kova scored a massive 2 points. And Kova is a better dirver than Piquet...

Brilliant end to a great season IMO, really pleased for Lewis and Mclaren!!

My dad had written lewis off and walked out the room al unhappy on the last lap, only for that brilliant last corner:cool:

Well done Lewis!

Well thank flip they didnt put an ad break in this part of the race when it was actually happening earlier!

Wow what a race. I can't remember being that excited about F1, really went down to the wire.

Kudos to Vettel though, can't wait to see what he can do next season.
