It was incredibly anti-climatic... the podium ceremony was almost pointless - no one was even smiling up there!

The Brazilian crowd were crap. You'd think they'd have at least some compassion for Hamilton who constantly mentions Senna at every chance.

Atleast it was just booing, and they had theor reasons for being a bit upset.

Not like the Racist Pig Spaniards.

I think youve made my point for me - luck didnt need to enter into - especially when you consider it the perfect strategy.

Luck always plays a factor though - don't know how you can say it didn't need to come into it tbh. You could say that Bordais was very unlucky to have come out of the pits in Japan and then get hit my Massa only to receive a penalty - likewise Massa was lucky (personally I don't think either driver was to blame as it was just an unfortunate racing incident). Had Massa not had that little bit of luck then Hamilton would only have needed to finish 6th so all this conjecture wouldn't matter.

Also, it's strange how you think Alonso would have done a better job but at the end of the day he was in the same car as Lewis last year and finished behind the rookie in the championship.

As I said the british public cheered when Schumacher got hurt in 99 and pelted the fans on the coaches with debris in 95.

What the brazillians did was panto compared to that.

If the decider was anywhere it would be the same, silverstone or montreal. If the home country kid was in with a shout the other contenders would get a good boooooooooooooo!

Honda tester Alex Wurz was seconded to drive the medical car in Singapore as regualr pilot Jacques Troppenat was unavailable. After Nelson Piquet's crash Wurz overtook both the safety car and Fernando Alonso and raced flat out to the scene egged on by F1 doctor Gary Hartstein. It was too much for the nervous local doctor in the back seat, who was reunited with his lunch...

Motorsport December 2008.

Tehehe, good ol' Wurz.

I'd put Kubica well up there with them if the BMW has been worth the development time spent on it. Providing he gets out of his grump :p

Good point I forgot about Kubica (probably because he was no where in the last two races).

Also Heinfield (SP?!) is up there as well in terms of consistant points scoring although I don't think he will be a challenger for consistant podiums.

Given the strategy - I dont think LH could have done any better (remember he was carrying extra fuel for 2/3 of the race)

I think if it had remained dry for the start, then LH would have gained several places before the flag, but because of the tiny shower that delayed the start, it meant he HAD to come in early to change tires, at which point they fueled him roughly the same as everyone else (ie still carrying the extra fuel) which meant it was always going to be hard to catch up to Kimi /Alonso completely

It was also clear that the shower at the start surprised all the teams, as NONE where expecting it (according to the grid walk anyway)

Personally I would have fueled LH for q3 with 18-20 laps of fuel for the race, rather than the 23 or so that McLaren seemed to do, but I can see why they might want the extra few laps but the rain at the start completely messed this strategy up

I admit that McLaren arent great by any means at Strategy, but Brazil isnt good proof that that they arent

I think Heikki will be "better" next year as full slicks are back... all of his problems seem to come from tyre graining which is a "feature" of the grooved slicks.

Your faith in Heikki is astonishing. He has shown that he is consistently crap. I pointed this out before halfway point in the season, but was met with heaps of Heikki defenders. Now the season is over, we have seen that he is probably in the bottom 5 drivers in F1. I would much rather Hamilton have Barrichello or a totally new driver, as his No.2. Heikki is woeful and simply makes Hamilton look even better than he actually is - thats really all he's good for.

The reaction of the crowd and the media left a lot to be desired.

Eh? The Brazillian crowd had just seen Massa lose the title to Hamilton - what exactly did you expect them to do? Cheer Hamilton to victory? Next you will be saying that you want Everton to cheer Liverpool, when Liverpool beat Everton in a football derby.

is that supposed to make them feel good? telling everyone hes senna? I just thing it makes him more laughable.

The race for the 2009 WDC/CWC started yesterday

Lets just see which teams can produce a good car

Kov will be better, but will still be a let down - it really depends on LH making less mistakes, and challanging for 2nd /3rd when for whatever reasons McLaren cant challange for the win, for them to win the CWC

Im sure Ferrari will become more reliable, and other teams are likely to challange for higher places

With all the changes (and BBC back again) it should be a good year in 2009

I'm really hoping Honda are in contention next year and Jenson get back to his BAR days. I love him has a sportsperson, it's about time he started driving again!

I had faith in Heikki too, and unfotunately I think you're right sunama. Although bottom 5 is perhaps a little harsh, but he's certainly not lived up to the level he showed in the second half of 2007.

I can only hope he raises his game next year otherwise the constructors title is as good as Ferrari's already.
