2008 British Grand Prix - Race 9/17

Heikki's been quick all weekend in practise and consistently faster than Hamilton.

Well done Heikki.

Hamilton had a poor qualifying - even Webber got in front of him and thats quite shocking.

No offence to Coulthard - but that shows why he should be retiring - just doesnt have the tools to get the best out of the Red Bull like Webber - just is consistent in the race...

But Webber got a head of a World Champion :D what's more shocking? ;)

cracking lap from webber and from kovi.

hami 4th but was extra cautious through that corner he went off on. think he will have a good race tomorrow.

possibly a maclaren 1 2 tomorrow ?

I was watching him yesterday and I wasnt that impressed with Hamilton - Kova and Webber though kept doing some very impressive laps. More likely them to 1 2 than Hamilton...

I think Massa might have something to prove though - Kimi just seems to be off the boil over the last few races - definitely seems to be re-evaluating F1...

Oh for a 1st win £1k win bonus always nice. Though to be fair the Mrs will spend it in less time than Webber qualified :)

About time Hekki got up there! He has been nearly there all yeah and I hope he has a good race!

Great stuff from Webber as well.

Maybe ran out of talent may be used on Hamilton if he keeps using the grass!

Unless they're tanked up to the max, that was not a good showing for Ferrari. Bugger. I was already hoping for rain to liven things up a bit, now I'm hoping for it even more.

ITV - did my ears and eyes deceive somewhat during that qually session? At one point, Hamilton and Kovy put in laps quite close to each other. JA waffled on, saying that Hamilton was on the hard tyre and Kovy on the soft, thus making Hamilton's lap extra awesome. I'm pretty sure that Hamilton was actually on the soft tyre (complete with white stripe) when that occurred....did I get it completely wrong (I was in the pub at the time, and might have been drinking :)) or can I file this under yet another example of JA being a Retarded Hamilton Zealot™?

Erm yeah I thought he said how great the lap was and then noticed the tyres but didn't correct himself (?). I think his heart stopped when Hamilton went off :D

Oh and that crazy suspension jumping on Rosberg's car was mad :D

He did correct himself, just very quietly whilst stuttering in embarassment. Wonder if the BBC were listening? :)

I hope Webber's time was set on a decent fuel load, I'd love him to win it - even if I do have £10 on Kovalainen :)

Hamilton was on soft tyres.

Heikki has been fast all weekend, marginally quicker than Hamilton. In qualifying, I think Heikki had a great lap, while Hamilton had an ordinary lap, which compounded Heikki's speed advantage.

Lets see what Heikki can do in the race. He is primed to win it as he has the speed and positional advantage over Hamilton, while the Ferraris seem out of sorts.

There are no excuses this time.
