BBC 2009 F1 team decided
Monday, 29 September 2008
According to Pitpass, a leading F1 media site the 2009 BBC F1 team has been chosen. It looks like this - Jonathan Legard, Martin Brundle, David Coulthard, Jake Humphrey and Lee McKenzie.

Jonathan Legard has done previous commentary on BBC's Radio Five Live and has much knowledge of the sport. He will be paired up with award winning commentator Martin Brundle, a perfect decision on behalf of the BBC.

Current F1 driver, David Coulthard, is apparently going to be in the studio to head the show with another BBC presenter Jake Humphrey, who recently had a major role at the BBC beijing olympic games.

According to F1Fanatic, "Lee McKenzie has been fronting Sky Sports’ A1 Grand Prix coverage and is the daughter of Bob McKenzie, the Daily Express journalist. (He who famously promised to run a lap of Silverstone naked if McLaren won a race in 2004.) She is expected to work as a pit lane reporter, a role currently filled by Louise Goodman and Ted Kravitz. McKenzie won Jim Clark Memorial Award for people involved in motor sport."

From the looks of this, only Martin Brundle from the current ITV team will join the on-screen team at the BBC.

just watched this on sky+, solid race from hamilton, raikonen had fast laps but didnt really put any pressure on him, massa just wasnt fast.

raikonen on the podium not a happy bunny at all.

and hamilton having god on his side now.

and what was goin on with fisi, holding everyone up, did he get up on wrong side of the bed?

over all perfect race for hamilton just dull to watch

what a boring race, lewis like MS?? give me a break lol

7 points in it same as last year, lewis will still find a way to mess it up and lose it again :p

good race for ferrari, title pretty much in the bag and thats all that matters :D

Something is wrong, I've woken up after my post-GP snooze and there is nothing on any websites about the FIA gifting Massa any points yet. Have I woken up too early or something?

Well you gotta say that leading the GP by about 16 seconds was pretty Schumacher-esque considering that Hamilton was still pulling away bit by bit yet driving with a turned down engine.

not really no lol he had the best car michael would have been 30 seconds ahead with the ferrari :)

As I said, Hamilton turned the car down.
Had that not been the case, and if Hamilton was driving flat out, I wouldnt have been suprised to see the Ferraris the better part of 30-35 seconds down on Hamilton.
(Btw Im a Ferrari fan as well Stig but its kinda blindingly obvious that hamilton was a good part of 0.5 secs a lap faster than the Ferraris on average.)

Hamilton did as much as he could do, was calm and collected all race (baring a couple of minor slides when he was really pushing it) and tried to save his engine in the last few laps so its ok for Brazil

Kovi was plainly awful - and I dont think it was all equipment related, I cant see McLaren winning the constructors (even though its still mathmatically possible) - puncture may not have been his fault but apart from the opening few corners, he just couldnt even keep up with Alonso let alone Massa/Kimi

Simple for LH in Brazil - he can let both Ferrari's lead the race, and even if necessary allow Alonso in front of him also and still win the WDC and Ferrari cant do anything about it (after all no other car / driver combi can keep up with LH/McLaren)

Massa was just diabolical today, considering what Kimi was able to do in the same equipment - we should all expect more from a title challanger imo rather than barely keeping up with your team mate and being gifted a place at the end

The only thing to worry about is McLaren making a mistake / technical failure/puncture

Good drive by Hamilton, lovely race craft today. As to Murray Walker leave him where he is as he is well past it and I was never a fan anyway. To me he was "just a noise".

and that makes him schumacher like? come off it lol was a straight forward win

why the need to compare lewis to the maestro its just silly he is not ms like and never will be, ms is his own person and so is lewis

'fraid not. We all said we wanted a race free of controversy for once, and we got one. It just happened to be devoid of any real action as well.

Mclaren kinda did it earlier on in the year with LH?
One of the races where Kovalainnen was ahead of Hamilton (because Hamilton had to pit or something) and Ron gets on the radio to HK and says "Heikki, Hamilton is behind you and he is about 'yay' seconds per lap faster than you"

Losely translated? Get the hell out of Hamiltons way :)

Not really because McLaren where allowing the faster car through - which no one should really complain about (as its a TEAM sport also), what Ferrari did today was the opposite, because Massa was slower throughout the race as Kimi was happy to prove even in the last few laps

(and while I remember the incident you are talking about , and this should be discouraged, at least this kind of change is justifiable ....ish :D)

no point argueing with him :p nothing gets through
No, but his responses are amusing.

Everyone digs themselves a hole at some point, but the Stig has employed a full on excavation team complete with JCBs and is headed to Australia.

Heikki had to move at Silverstone and Germany, you really have no grounds to complain, Felipe was faster today too in the final stint :) It's a team sport and team orders should be allowed anyway. Felipe eased off last year to let Kimi win in Brazil, its good practice.

So you think Lewis is like MS do you? And because I see them as who they are for themselves then that makes me digging a hole? I don't compare drivers to anyone, they make their own mark and I judge them on that. Why is that such a hard opinion for you to take?

I think you are quite sad if you have to compare Lewis to anyone, he is out there making his own name.
