2008 Japanese GP - Race 16/18

That Alonso quote is awesome. We've had "friendly friendly ooo dont touch me" racing for so long its about time we got some rivalries up and running properly like the good old days where men would get out of their cars and square up, or head down the pit lane to the others garage and call them out! :D

Fernando "The Raging Bull" Alonso Vs. Lewis "The Ninja" Hamilton...

Ding ding ding!

And yes, there is casual racism in there..

haha yeah love the Alonso comment, him and Kimi are my favourites now. I love they way they can still have a laugh, more like the drivers in days of old, not this modern P.C crud we get now. How long till Hamilton starts thanking God for watching over him?
After having a good read through this thread now, i've came to the conclusion that most Hamilton fans are going to be either sore losers or sore winners depending on the WDC crown.
Oh and just to reply to someones comment regarding the Ferrari mechanic jumping up and down when hamilton got his penalty, don't forget that we've seen McLaren mechanics celebrating Ferrari's bad times this year too!

Oh.. and was it last year that one of the Ferrari top brass was crying cos even though one of his drivers had won the most races he wasnt in the lead of the championship? How long till he starts up again? Massa's had the most wins this year hasn't he? And again, most wins doesn't mean championship lead.
The BTCC was decided this year on consistancy, looks like the F1 will be too.

Im sure he thanks his dad every race he wins - we even get an interview with him usually - bet you the Vatican are after their own race series now :p;)...

The FIA should use permanant race stewards who are voting in by the teams. I feel that would lead to greater consistency.
I dont understand why every component is not centralised to aid consistency...

Back from my ban (thanks stiggywinkles).

They're both immature when it comes to a title race to be honest. Both two seasons in to a top team too. They are both out to prove something and we then we get incedents like yesterday and Spa.

Massas take on Webber was really unnecessary and I was quite alarmed that he was allowed to do that. I know its been done before but in the safety concious word of modern F1 should be penalising these kind of incedents rather than a driver running out of talent.

It's no wonder other drivers get tetchy when the new kid comes along and starts racing them becasue they can just get penalised for the other drviers mistakes.

Simply do what most people do,add to ignore :D

I think that perhaps it was inapropriate of them to cheer when Massa punted Hamilton, not when the penalty was given.

Why McLaren have done the same in the past, yet Ferrari (amazingly) havent been as petty to make it newsworthy ...

TBH McLaren is the new Ferrari :p...

Personally I'm all for the teams celebrating when something goes wrong for their rival.

I was celebrating when Massa headed off down the pits with the fuel hose still attached in Singapore. I'd expect Ferrari fans to celebrate when Hamilton is facing backwards watching the entire field pass him by. :)

I also expect Alonso and Kimi to antagonise whenever possible. :D

Me too. When LH got past KR at Spa I was like a football thug with lines like "get in" :p Then the fuel hose at Singapore had me GLOL at the TV.

Yeah, I really enjoyed shouting at the TV and laughing then I sat back and felt like a footie thug :D

I think the media are painting the picture in a worse light than it really is in the paddock but rivalry does equal excitement, but that doesn't mean they have to hate each other. Having a mutural respect can have a great impact rather than the red mist. I think Schumi caused a few drivers red mist in the past.

Not at all, he cheered when Massa spun Lewis round, from first glances it looked like a decent move and had worked well so he cheered. As did most Ferrari fans I guess. Only when we seen the reverse angle did it become clear a penalty was going to arrive.

McLaren mechanics were cheering the Ferrari team as they ran down the pitlane in Singapore. At the end of the race they probably all go for a drink together its just sport.

heh, so we shouldnt cheer when we get a penalty in football heh? Not very sportsman like is it! lol

They are so into the race and the need for points that they are gonna react to what ever happens on the track. Its a bit harsh to say that they should sit down and shutup and not show an emotion.

That is different, then you are cheering for the team that gets a penaly kick, not cheering for the fact that the defender kicked down the forward and possibly not getting a penalty.

Cheering is fine but not when it was so blatently obvious that Massa was just being stupid and ramming off his direct competitor.

Was not obvious though, even Brundle said it was fine with the first angle everyone seen. That's when the mechanic cheered not once it became clear it was wrong.

Chances of Massa spinning off every lap if it rains in China? :D

Chances of Hamilton eh well doing a Hamilton and being too hot headed, panicking and trying to win the race in the 1st corner. As a result running wide, losing a lot of places and thus ruining any chance of a victory :D

For sure go Massa go :p
