2008 Japanese GP - Race 16/18

Why dont we have an interactive feed?!? Or why does Premiere?

ps3ud0

Maybe we will next year. ;)

I guess Premiere do because they were one of the first people to have F1 Digital and a lot of their sports subscribers were used to that kind of interaction and they didn't want to lose it completely when F1 Digital stopped so did a deal with Bernie. It's part of their standard sports package and a big selling point of it.

You can receive Premiere over here, I used to get cards for a couple of friends when I lived in Germany. There are a few companies that will sort it out for you. You can turn commentary off as well which is cool.

Does anyone know the name of that fat bearded moron in the Ferrari garage who was laughing when Massa rammed Hamilton?

I want to prepare a letter of commiserion just in case Massa bins the title. Ill enclose a photo of his even fatter mate realeasing buttons when he shoudlnt.

Search for "Premiere Satellite" on ebay for an example, they may not be the cheapest people though so it's worth looking around on google. Also if you know anyone in Germany then just ask them to get you Premiere instead, it works out a lot cheaper that way. I think it was about 30 euros a month for the full Premiere package with sports in 2004 when I came back to the UK. They show films in English, plus Premiership football with english commentary, more games than Sky including Saturday ones at 3pm,

Exactly my thoughts. If you're going to be penalised from brushing wheels with someone, unintentionally causing them to spin and lose 4-5 seconds, then what's the point in racing?

How can you say it only cost LH 4-5 seconds - apart from the 14 or so places it cost him (he was in 6th, and he was spun out and had to let the rest of the field go past) - all the time lost over taking which wouldnt have been necessary (plus the potential for NOT having to pit due to damage)

It cost him 45 seconds or more, and Massa's penalty was a "mere" 25s - so Ferrari still profited 20s or more even without considering the track advantage

I was talking about Bourdais.

Double post :o

So Bourdais got a penalty for the pit exit incident? I thought he was online correctly and massa cut him up?

It was a nothing incident, nobody should have been punished. Nobody could really be blamed for it, it's something that used to happen all the time and they got on with it. Nowadays you'll get bent over by a steward if you drive half a millimetre off the track, brush someone's wheel or drive off with your fuel ho...:o:p

Its getting ridiculous.

I think its mainly down to the FIA's attempt to crack down on McLaren and prevent them from winning titles. In doing so though, they are now having to apply the rules to other cars/teams, in order to appear consistent and not appear to be victimising McLaren/Hamilton.

This is exactly what McLaren were aiming for when they made their appeal. They knew they had no chance of successfully appealing, however, by creating such a commotion, they highlighted the fact that the Stewards are being strict on McLaren. This has forced the race Stewards to appear fair/consistent and so other teams/cars are being penalised.

After Spa, the FIA already have been presented by the media as being pro-Ferrari. If they dont take action against other teams now, even more fingers will be pointed leading to damaging investigations, resignations, etc. It wont be good for the FIA.

It totally depends on the colour of your car though.

The only one that should have gotten a penalty was Massa, giving a penalty for late braking without hitting someone, what a nonsense, this happens all the time.

And the Bourdais penalty is a total laugh, F1 is a farce this year.

I don't understand why they resigned KR when they could have had FA. It just does not make any sense! Ferrari would be unstoppable with FA.
There's little money can't fix in F1, and Ferrari have plenty of that. They could surprise us yet regardless of any contracts already signed.

I'll keep hoping. FA in a Ferrari Vs LH in a McLaren. To genuine rivals driving for rival teams. No team orders. Would be a great season.

I can sort of understand the penalties given to Hamilton and Massa, though I do think it was a bit harsh on Hamilton, the penalty was for forcing Kimi off the track but we've seen lots of similar incidents over the years without penalty maybe they should have just given him a penalty for brain fade because that's what he had in that first part of the race.
The Massa Hamilton incident was in my view totally Massa's fault and yes he should have received a penalty but the Massa Bourdais ?, I honestly cant see why Bourdais was penalised, he came out of the pits in front of Massa all be it slower but he kept snug up to the inside of the corner and Massa just closed up into him, where was Bourdais meant to have gone ?

Q. What about the Sebastien Bourdais incident?

FM: There is not really much to say about that. I was turning in the corner and then he hit me coming out of the pits. There is nothing to comment on. For me, he was a little bit too optimistic on the inside and to me it was completely wrong.
Massa's lost it. He has lost all sense of reality and reason.
FM: For me that was a little bit too optimistic. You cannot leave the pits like that.
What.. normally.. sticking to the right side of the track. So is Massa effectively condoning the drivers in the pits leaping across to the racing line after the white stripe? Oh god.. its such a farce.

Massa's lost it. He has lost all sense of reality and reason.

He hasnt lost it. He is merely defending himself and his actions. I would say exactly the same.

What he shouldnt say is, "Oh yes, its my fault, I shouldnt have attempted to squeeze him off the road. The officials penalised him and that was wrong."

If he said the above, then the FIA would contact Ferrari and tell him to keep his mouth shut, if they want continued assistance.

At the end of the day, the FIA are assisting Massa wherever possible and for that reason alone, Massa must support the FIA, the Stewards and their decisions.

I think this is Alsono's way of signalling to Ferrari that he wants to drive for them post 09

But I hope Massa wins the title - I don't like Hamilton much

He come across all polite and yes sir no sir when first on the scene then proceeded to call drivers at the back of the grid, monkeys. What cheek just cause you got a drive for a top team and they did not does not make them any less better than you.
