Because he knows what he's talking about more than the idealist that is Nick Clegg.

At what point in the past has he ever displayed knowledge greater than that of his competitiors?

More arrogance, yes
Intelligence, no

Which ever party comes into power, public spending will cut further, we have just saved 15% which is leaving us running a mickey mouse service, and the public have yet to see the results, so further cuts are going to be awful and I hate to think what type of service we will deliver to the public when that happens.

Are we supposed to guess what sector you work in?

Voted Liberal Democrat although the poll has been closed, so not updated. A hugely disappointing result :(

I predict that the Liberal Democrats will "work" with the "English" Tories in the national interest; this will probably result in another General Election within 12 months and I suspect that the Liberal Democrats will do still worse there.

I must say stockers that I was quite shocked at the poor result for the Lib Dems. I expected them to gain more seats.

Still, Nick Clegg and the Lib Dems are going to be the power brokers, no question.

I work in public service, local government, what we will see is a decrease in public services such as schools, enviroment and front line NHS workers, they wont cut the things that should just be let go, for example I would rather provide a decent refuse service then provide someone with a pretty park to walk in, the same way that if you use the NHS you want to be seen and quick not wait around for months for anything to happen. I have been dealing with a hernia issue for 5 months with 1 apponitment booked since December. But they wont touch managers it will be front line staff that go as its easier.

When revenue and spending sky-rocketed I didn't notice a difference, I'll take the mickey mouse service and a further 15% saving please.

With 43 seats left to declare we are here:

I'm depressed over this result. How can it even be conceivable that Brown and the Labour party have the possibility of staying in power? Something is very wrong with this country and i am counting the days until i leave for New Zealand in 2 years i'm done with this crap hole.

This country is *****d.

Not sure what service you receive but refuse collection down this way cost 47p a week.

What needs to happen is more open book accounting to show what your money pays for, we all pay Council tax, and all we really see for it is roads and waste collections, we only use the police, fire when needed, if they provided a better breakdown of what the money was actually used for and gave people a vote on it I think everyone would be more then happy, but at the moment it is a take it service from everythng and no say what so ever.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Kthxbye

Having not really cared about politics up until this election, can someone explain to me in simple terms what it means if it stays in this sort of ratio of seats? How does it work? (please dont link me to a bbc explanation, i want simple short answers :p)
