Great work so far Pixel! How has the weight loss affected your diabetes out of interest? Do you think if you carry on losing weight you'll no longer be diabetic or was it not triggered by your weight/diet originally?
That is great work by Pixel. I need to start losing weight. I'm a similar height and weight to Pixel and I'm also a type 1 diabetic.
Type 1 is the one where insulin is taken and its permanent. Weight loss will make maintaining steady levels much, much easier but you can never get rid of it so no matter how much weight Pixel loses, Type 1 diabetes will still be there. Type 2 is the one where weight/diet can be a cause.
I would have thought that losing weight would help Pixel to have more stable levels and find them easier to maintain, as well as using less insulin to maintain those levels. Correct me if I'm wrong Pixel.![]()
Another quick update:-
Now down to 20st 7llbs, still not got round to joining a gym.
Next goal is get into the 19's ASAP, hopefully a few weeks time, but I'm having a few issue's with motivation at the moment.
Last few weeks i've been on the treadmill 3-4 times a week for 1 hour at a time, done loads of boxing and weights and kept very strictly to the diet and one week i lost no weight and the second week i lost 1 pound. So it's gets a bit disheartening putting all that effort in for little gains at the moment. But i was expecting some bad weeks, so i just hope my perseverance will eventually pay off.

Down to 19st 12llb now
I know that's still heavy, but hey i started out at 30st 12llb (so exactly 11st has gone!!) so i'm chuffed at the moment.
I've gone from a 66in Chest/Waist down to a 48/50, so it's a major difference.
Got a a lot of loose skin now, which is not a pretty sight, i know a 30st man isn't either, and i'm going to see the GP to see what i need to do to get it cut off. I'm assuming i need to get down to my ideal weight (14st something) and maintain it for a while before even being considered due to the costs etc.

- i'm not happy in front of a camera and so don't have that many of myself, especially at my biggest.

)I'm almost 130kg and 5'9". I'd happily be about another 10kg heavier.
I came in here to post an update to my progress:
I'm down to 17 stone 9lbs, and my size 36 jeans are now starting to fall down, but I've put a little muscle mass on too!
I am a very heavy bloke, a personal trainer i was talking to the other day who im going to start seeing had mentally estimated my weight to be about 14.5 15 stone, he was gobsmacked when i told him to add another 3 onto that!
My weight VS height still leaves me in the OBESE category of BMI It's not the best photo in the world, but i'm definitely not a bodybuilder although i do have a bit of muscle from resistance work (pushups etc), so how the hell can anyone praise the BMI when it's telling me im not just overweight, but OBESE?
I don't actually know my bodyfat percentage, and it would be interesting to know as the only actualy fat fat really left on my body is around my stomach and a tiny bit around my chest muscles. My legs are very solid and very large around the thigh area, i imagine almost all of my excess weight is here.
But yea, there's my update!
You weight 20 stone 5 in the BOTTOM picture? You look very thin in the shoulders etc to be carrying that kinda weight!
I am generally a heavy person for my size,
This is me at just over 20 stone:

This is me a few days ago at 17 stone 6 lbs, with an 18.5" Neck and fairly wide shoulders. When i was 20 stone i looked very wide, which you dont!

I'm also 6'4 for reference.

- Swimming for the win! Oh and one last thing. I was a tight 44inch waist, now a comfy 36
