---2012 Nexus Phone facts/rumours/info thread---

Customisation Centre sounds great. As long as other things are implemented out the box (battery % in figures like on the S3, not just a bar), brightness slider and so on then we may be on to a winner and less need to root at all to get themed UIs and the like.

I have yet to own a Nexus phone but this may be the time to do so.

Roll on November 5th!

Sounds more like it stoosh!

User selectable interface between stock and skinned UI. Nice.

Exactly! If the rumours are correct this will be an amazing and genius step in the right direction by Google!

Congratulations on getting the S3 LTE Mate I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!

Cheers - its should be nice with JB and 2GB RAM. Ohh and that lush Grey finish :D

You still interested in the LTE S3?

Don't make me jealous! ;)

I am still interested but ideally I want a sim free version as I don't want to go through the hassle of finding a generic European LTE ROM and flashing it (even though its easy).

However I might wait until November and see what happens with the Nexus and then make up my mind. Its an exciting time in the Android world!

i don't really mind not having a SD card anymore, as im used to it now. but if that is the case then i want 32gig as standard and 64 offered for a few quid more. some games like fifa are 1.5gig and when you only have 13gig to play with out the box it sucks monkey balls

Cloud based storage is useless for music when all you want to do is travel on the train and listen to tunes.

64GB minimum IMO for a high end phone.

Many games are over 1GB and couple that with the HD camcorders and watching TV shows etc on the move and 64GB becomes an expectation.

Besides you can play music for days on the s3 so hardly a battery consumer!

64GB should be deffo the minimum for fixed storage as mrk says.

1080p videocam chews through storage as do games, music, videos.

Just add a sd-slot ffs!

Is there a reason why fixed storage seems to still cost so much in phones?

SSD's seem to be endlessly dropping in price yet Apple for instance charge £170 for a measly 48GB of storage, that money can buy me a 256GB SSD with change!

I'm still running with a HTC Desire (on Jelly Bean though) so anything right now would be a huge upgrade, but I'm really hoping that there will be a great selection of Nexus devices in December. I'm less concerned about SD slots now than I used to be, battery life is still top of the pile in my eyes (tempted with the Razer MAXX, or whatever its called).

Totally agree, with my Nexus I have 5GB of music, 2GB of recovery backups, 1GB of photos and a few games and that's all I can fit on there. 32GB or moar plz.

Most exciting part of the rumours so far for me is "As to who will make those Nexus phones with the new concept - the LG Optimus G Nexus got confirmed for the umpteenth time, but also the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 is bandied about, as well as phones from Sony and HTC are claimed as potential partners, and the whole lot is said to hit shelves in November, just in time to rain on the Windows Phone 8 Lumia, ATIV and HTC parade."

I'd totally love having a good range of devices to choose from. These days for me software is the differentiator. If I can't get stock Android, I ain't gonna bother. That's frustrating as it means I've missed out on some decent hardware this year.

nice videos showing the benefits of 2GB RAM

only reason there would be a benefit is if you ran 25+ apps without closing them down. i think 1gb is fine for the next year or two. its far more important to get the phones to be lasting longer on battery and providing more improved designs/features

My hopes and dreams

Must haves
4.5+ screen at 720p
32gb + storage, i have 16 and it's full (videos take a lot of space :-P)
Don't care about CPU
1GB +ram
Not samsung
Rgb led
Big battery, bigger the better
Have some weight

Would be nice
64GB storage
Micro sd.. Won't happen
2gb ram
Made of something less skanky than my galaxy nexus
Motorola/somy/HTC.. Never had a Sony but been tempted a few times

Looking at my list pretty much is the Motorola maxx hd isn't it?

Hmm after seeing those videos, I now want 2GB of RAM in my next phone! :p

One of the biggest annoyances with my S, tabs reloading when I come from a game or something.
