---2012 Nexus Phone facts/rumours/info thread---

I dont really understand this whole area of android phones as I am new to it (never kept up with them). I really want the Galaxy Nexus after being disappointed with the new iphone, I can defiantly say the Galaxy Nexus suits my needs. When can we expect a new updated one? presumley end of next month?

Also, so the rumor is LG is to do the next one?

I hate the waiting :(

Should be announced soon, and out shortly after that, just try relax and enjoy life these things just past by so quickly xD.

Hope they announce something soon as i'm getting bored of this HTC One X, even with a custom rom it's about as smooth as can of baked beans.

Replacing a One X, isn't that a really new phone?

Crikey I was pondering whether it was too soon to get the next Nexus to replace my S2, still unsure as the S2 is still an amazing phone for me :s

IF only they went with the S4 chip for the international phone, HTC right now would be in a much better place, Sad when your mid-range phone (One S) out performance your top range in almost everything.

How about a curved One neX+?

:p

Now just replace the tegra 3 quad chip with S4 dual or quad and you have the perfect phone right there :D

EDIT:

Should actually say the "almost perfect" phone right there :p

As it won't be using the aluminium uni-body with a MAO finish as well as not having a removable battery.

Do people really need more CPU power? I really don't!

Every os update android gets better and seems like apple go backwards lol. The update to version4 was aamazing

So is there definite criteria a phone has to meet to be a nexus? Just hope rgb is indeed in that spec as a must, stopped me getting the one x

I like the uni-body of the One X more so then anything aluminium, but yes to removable battery, everyone needs that in a phone for those long trips.

I got rid of mine already :p

Went back to my Nexus S, which is far less frustrating to deal with!

Can understand going back to the GN, but the nexus S from the one X...........

:p

Personally I don't think any further advancement for CPU/GPU performance is required at least not for the present tasks, which are carried out, the exynos/mali gives plenty of power not to mention the S4/adreno! They need to concentrate on power efficiency and heat etc., although again, the S4 is already superb for this, but could be even better!

Indeed, android is just getting better and better now, apple seriously need to revamp iOS or bring something completely new to it. If they keep up with their current approach, they will start to see their sales decrease.

I think you are the first person I have come across that prefers the PC body of the X over the MAO AU of the S :p

What is it that you prefer more about it?

Its just the feel of it, and how solid that bad boy is, the MAO AU is amazing too, and more so its just that the PC doesn't affect signal, I've hear that the One S isn't great in that department. I would be happy with either really but slightly in favor of the PC.

I just want a HTC One Nexus, HTC is the only company that makes android phones that look great IMHO, the rest are okay and good, but HTC is really pushing it.

I think the only way to push tech is to get better hardware, at this point and time in PC department no one really needs the super powerful hardware, but it still get pushed and pushed with every update. The software well slowly catch up then.

I think the new Nexus should have either the S4 Plus, or Pro, then they get the adreno 320 and a great cpu. Hopefully it comes with a beefy battery too.

Yeah the one S signal isn't the best for some, most phones are better than it, but the last update has improved it by a good bit for the majority of people and fixed the main issues such as 3G and H constantly flicking.

For me I have never had a serious problem with it really, always got at least 2 bars, an average of 3-4 bars most of the time and since the last update, I have 5 bars most of the time now. Main thing is that it just wasn't very consistent and the signal was virtually none when you had "WCDMA only" mobile connection as opposed to the "GSM only" data connection, but again since last update, it has improved:

The one S has got 2 bits of plastic, one at the top and one at the bottom for the wifi and aerial. I think it is largely down to software as well, as the X also encounters similar problems and richy888 had both and found them very poor in comparison to his defy + and the wife's 4s and also the new RAZR I.

Waiting for the new Nexus / Razr HD / S3 LTE etc. - no point in buying something else as a stop gap is there :)

Ah ok! :)

:o That looks pretty good, but just shows how HTC dropped the ball with software, when they had 2 great phones  the MAO does feel like something special and looks really nice much better then the PC in black.

I'm with the guy who suggested some lower cheaper models.

If Google are going to release a number of phones it would be pointless for them all to be competing flagship models. It would make more sense for them to have a range like individual suppliers do, so maybe a flagship, a smaller less powerful one, and something else, like a HW keyboard one. 5 phones that all occupy the same market space would be a bit silly.
