2012 Weight Loss Thread

Second week Weigh in:

Starting weight beginning of January 14st 6lb
Target weight end of June 11st

Last Monday 14st 1lb
This Monday 13st 11.5lb

3.5lb lost :)

I've been using a really good App called "my fitness pal" and it's really helping me with calorie counting, its also educating me on how many calories are in certain foods. In order to lose 2lb per week the App is telling me to eat 1560 calories per day which i'm managing quite well :)

Good work Pumaz! I am using MFP as well - does seem to help focus eating.

However, I do doubt some of there calorie contents, and calories burnt figures for some of the exercises seem a little high.

I am down to 103kg now :)

Down to 14stone 8lb now and got the all clear to do some exercise but no weights etc so have started walking allot more and using the ps3 move fitness workouts. Looking at getting a bike as well. :)

I'll be starting my dieting tomorrow, put on around 2 stone in the last 2 years! Mainly put it on in the last 6 months due to not being able to train due to bursitis in the knee which is still causing me a tonne of pain. Gone from running 5-10 mile 3-4 times a week to no exercise so i really need to concentrate on my diet.
First step for me will be eating breakfast as i don't eat normally (grab a coffee then off to the office) Scrambled egg seems to be the best so i'll google how to make it and have it for tomorrows breakfast with a coffee.
For a snack i'll have banana around 10am
Dinner i'll have : pear / apple / satsuma / yoghurt
Afternoon snack i'll have another satsuma (got loads in the house!) and some nuts
For evening meal i'll have whatever i have in the freezer just a smaller portion than i normally do.
For supper i'll have my 2nd coffee off the day

At the moment i think i have about 8 cups of coffee a day and about 3litres of water(god knows how i dont drown! just always in need of a drink) .
Although i dont have sugar in my coffee cutting the amount out should help and have breakfast should stop me getting hungry so early

I'm currently 14 stone (5'10") and i plan on staying at this weight without exercising until my knee's been sorted (be April / May time at least) before hitting the road and running again with the aim of getting below 13 by the end of the year.

I'm due foot surgery in 2 weeks and will be off my feet for at least six weeks, so trying to fit in as much wii fit as possible before I'm off my feet for a while.

Kitchen fitters last day tomorrow so can start properly on a diet, and eat a bit more decent. Got a weigh in and BMI for my operation apparently i'm overweight by a pound and 0.1 over my BMI but I was fully clothed in jeans, belt, hoody, trainers, and had my wallet and phone in my pocket and she claimed that would all weight 3lbs tops? LIES! I hope.....

Haha wrong thread! :D

Dietary changes are still in effect but waiting on a nice shiny set of scales before I start making any real measurements.

:)

Why? What you eat contributes far more to weight loss/maintenance than the excercise you do. You should still be able to get rid of some of the fat without having to run. There's a danger that you are using your knee as an excuse for your weight when in reality it's the amount of calories you are consuming. Also watch it with the fruit - it's basically sugar

Last tuesday - 140.50 kg (22st 1.7lb)
this tuesday - 137.00 (21st 8.0lb)

lost 3.50kg (7.7lb)

loads to go but starting to feel better...

Isn't there differernt types of sugar? The natural ones in fruit not being so bad for you?
Yeh i realised that there is a danger of this,i have signed up @ myfitnesspal and set my target on there, auto targets me @ 1850 calaries today. I've eaten 1830 today

fructose is still bad for you

I know that i have kind of taken that out of context a bit, but just to make the point: Its not bad for you unless you eat too much. Same as any other foods really, nothing is bad for you unless you're eating too much of it.

Actually, thanks for clarifying. I'm not saying fruit is bad for you either, but it IS full of simple sugars so shouldn't be looked at in the same way as vegetables.

How is everyone getting on! My second Monday weigh in tomorrow!!

My diet so far has helped in more ways that one! I have always suffered with bad IBS - cutting out bread and milk has cleared it up completely! Yesterday I went paint balling for the day and the lunch options were limited, so I ended up having a burger. Today I am bloated and feeling rubbish - so I know bread is the culprit! Boo!

Done loads of CV and weights this week and I do feel great for it! I am always hungry as a result. Fruit is my default snack so I need to wean myself off of that, and all the extra sugar! Staggered how much sugar is in some veg to, like Carrots.

I've been losing and gaining the same few pounds over the past couple of weeks, really need to get my arse in gear and start being more strict, still have at least 2 stone left I want to lose.

Crashed and burned already! Curry and beer stocks in the house remain and I'm not throwing them away. :D Aiming to reboot on 1 February by which time I should have scoffed them.

1st week of my current cutting phase is over, I feel a bit sluggish now I'm below 100g's carbs a day. But with the bulk of my carbs pre-gym I am still able to smash out some good numbers while training. I feel like I've lost some doughyness, but also feel a bit watery due to the amount of water I'm drinking. Next week should give me a clear indication on how I am doing and coping with this cut. Hopefully I am loosing a good 2lb's a week.

I weighed myself today... its one of those things that I've been putting off for a long time because I knew it wasn't going to be pretty.

20 stone 2 1/2 lb.

Balls.
