2013/14 Pre-season Friendly Thread

It ended 2-0 to Chelsea and an easy win. A super strike from Oscar and Campagnaro was sent off in the second half:

Was that Lukaku and Moses in the build-up?

Interesting...was wondering about Moses for Fantasy Football. Mourinho likes his strong players. He's not massively dissimilar to Malouda...

Missed a sitter a few seconds before his goal but he's not been too bad. Can't say I'm too happy to see Coutinho out wide so Allen can play the AM role though.

Oh is that how we've lined up? Don't like that, Coutinho should be able to roam.

I'd almost like to see some sort of 4-2-2-1-1 formation next season. Back four, Gerrard and Lucas, two wingers, and Coutinho off a striker. Possibly switch in a third midfielder (Allen or Henderson) if we come up against a stronger team.

Seems to be a 4-1-2-3 formation with Allen and Gerrard taking turns to go forward and drop back. The three forward players are all roaming around though to be fair.

Lucas looks far sharper than he did last season. Was a bit worried he might've lost the snap in his tackle which made him such an outstanding DM but he looks completely over the injury now.

Edit: Good half of football. Our movement and passing has looked very sharp and everyone's playing well. Fowler to come on and score a hat-trick.

I don't think its that he wants to leave, more like the club want to sell him:/

Oh yeah because not signing a new contract that's been offered is the club wanting to sell him.

Not that he just wants a boat load of money and wouldn't sign a new deal and the places he's been rumoured with are big wage spenders (Monaco).

I'm pretty sure we did bad things to nani like drop him for valencia etc and sure he wants decent amount of wages. I don't know what he wants or what we're offering so it's hard to say. But playing such hardball games and dropping him is really us showing we don't value him enough

Nani had a poor season due to having his first real major injury since being at the club and when back he then kept getting niggles putting him out for a few more weeks, meaning his season was very disrupted.

It was rumoured he wanted £130k - £150k a week.

I think we will be absolutely destroyed, Higuain to get a hattrick to show that clueless chump of a manager of ours that he should have paid up and got him instead of wasting our ****ing time on Suarez
