Even more so, when you consider Fabregas has been playing deeper in midfield, and so far seems very adept at it. He could probably have taken Ramsey's spot? He's the more advanced of your central midfield pair isn't he?

Fabregas quite often in the couple years before he left played deeper than Song... not really by design but because Cesc is responsible and a great player and Song randomly ran off up the field.

He can play pretty much anywhere across midfield or upfront, in defensive/offensive roles.

He could pretty much do anything Arsenal need, injuries and lack of attacking/creative players, push him forwards a bit, if a couple of our more DM capable players were injured he can easily play a deeper role.

He's better than anyone we have still, even more irksome is that Sanchez and Fabregas looked at their best playing together, when Messi wasn't playing(so the team wasn't randomly ignoring half the team). Sanchez and Fabregas and moving on one of two other players would have been fantastic for Arsenal. They play together exceptionally well, both read each others game very well.

Not sure if we can afford two 30 million quid signing's though. Very unlikely anyway, were not Chelsea or City..

Hmm... I understand, but with the following Cesc has at Arsenal he could have pulled a chunk of that back through shirt sales and other commercial revenue over the years. I was very surprised to see Wenger pass on him to be honest (though I'm certainly glad he did!).

Yeah, maybe. People probably still have their old Fabregas shirt though :D VINTAGE!

and the fact we are packed in the midfield role, hopefully Ox will get more starts there. We needed an outright attacking player and few defenders, Wenger has sorted that. As an Arsenal supporter, i'm really pleased with our signings, especially Sanchez..

Fabregas has won international tournaments playing striker and played it effectively for Barcelona, he'd be an improvement on Giroud.

The fact is if we sold him we could likely have gotten shot of Ozil for more Fabregas cost, maybe even more as it was a bit unclear if we could also have gotten him cheaper.

Fact is he's miles better than Ozil/Santi/Giroud/everyone else we have.

Buying a great player and selling a couple other people isn't hurting the team, it's improving it. Santi is poor when we push him out wide, Fabregas is less good out wide than centrally but still effective and quality when pushed wide.

I'd have happily sold Santi and Ozil and had Fabregas back. In reality if we bought Cesc and sold those two, we'd have more money available for a CB or out and out striker than we do now, a better balanced team and less people playing out of position. Cazorla is currently a waste and Ozil is hurting us in tougher games.

Yeah, even having passed on Fabregas I think Arsenal have strengthened nicely. As always it'll come down to injuries and form around March, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Arsenal mounting a solid challenge this year. It's hard to compare the squad to Chelsea or City, but for me you guys have the strongest squad of the rest (dependent on who else United buy of course).

Arsenal can't afford 2x £30m signings?
You had £140m in the bank last year that was just waiting to be spent according to the media. Has someone eaten it all or was that just nonsense?

He's not miles better than those 3 though, it's in your head that. The reason he left Barca is because he hasn't affected the big games as much as he'd of liked, he admits that himself. I'd of loved him back as well but unfortunately there is no space, and he'd of been a big outlay..

Don't drink up what the media say mate, just look at the transfer history of Arsenal, it's quite obvious they've been balancing the books quite well, and quite rightly as well.

Never realised that seeing Cesc play for Chelsea would suck this much.

I truly thing not bringing him back to Arsenal was a massive error - I'd have cleared out Wilshire / Cazorla / Arteta just to make room for him.

Seeing him play for Chelsea hurts.

Just wait until he's feeding balls through to Drogba at the Emirates :p

Cesc, Drogs, rock n roll.

The pitch is awful in large parts. Miss luis already, its like we've put our dog down:(:p

I finally watched all our goals again last night, it'll be a very long time before the league let alone us see a player like that again, I mean no one has even had a season like that considering he took no penalties and got a crazy number of assists, ****ing sucks but oh well he was a ****
