Sept - Bali

Then I'm taking a break for a long time!!!

Being single and renting a property by myself doesn't leave me with a huge amount of money left to think about holidays, so this year my only plan is to head to Bristol to do a ToughMudder event - that trip alone will likely cost £300+ for the weekend!

Going to explore and travel some of the most beautiful places in the Philippines. I have been a few times before but this time, no city stuff and mainly sticking to sea, jungle and mountains, hopping from island to island with plane or by boat.

El Nido, Palawan - Some island hopping and turtle swimming

Lake Sebu, Cotabato - hiking, lake fishing and seeing some waterfalls

Chocolate hills, Bohol - Exploring the chocolate hills and some Island hopping with some shark swimming mixed in

Bicol, Legazpi - Volcano city

banaue rice terraces Treking it through more countryside

It will be very much an escape, visiting country and scenic areas. Terrain ranging from mountains to flat beaches, volcano to jungle. My girlfriend will be coming to do pictures so my photo responsibility can be passed on to someone professional to capture the moment. I am looking forward to showing her places i have been describing since meeting her that just sound like magic trick or film scenery. One place in particular that blew my mind was a part where the sea is so clear but so shallow that you can walk from small island to island. in some areas you can be hundreds of metres from land with it at waist height and if the conditions are right, itl look like you are standing in the middle of nowhere.

I like a good city trip but have spent the last decade doing those trips and parting it up. I feel like a good bit of exploring is in order. Seeing sights i heard about from family or places that i was too young to appreciate.

I am going with the gf and a few friends who wanted to go to the Philippines but were never sure what to do or what game plan to draw up. Being Filipino-Italian I am going to be mistaken for their personal tour guide after a few days in the sun. I think my solid Surrey accent will throw them off a tad.

NYC is pretty much my favourite city. Easy to see all of the tourist bits, but the city is so full of hidden gems that I always seem to find something new.

I am lucky to travel there for work regularly, but I am really looking forward to taking my wife and children this summer. Will be a first time experience for them. Watching them experience it for the first time will be as good as experiencing it myself again for the first time.

A lot of people say this, it's at the bottom of the list for me though.

NYC is awesome spent a few weeks over there over the years.

This years holidays so far

Amsterdam in June
Las Vegas august
Cyprus in September

Be careful with kayak used them a few years back they were much cheaper than the others, when we got to the hotel they said it's half board minimum we only paid for the room apparently, had to pay another 1400 euros. Amazingly kayak paid this back about a week after we got back home.

I would all together avoid sites like that. Whatever you save wont be worth the hassle and chance of something going wrong. Not just the money but losing time off, wasted planning and sheer disappointment would put me off.

I am booking some of my Philippines trip separately through family to get some good deals. Tour packages seem over priced and i want to go at my own pace and do my own stuff while winging the rest.
