2019 NFL Season Thread

i don't think he's up to that, only long term qb's i've seen recently that i would trust to do their own thing are payton manning, tom brady, drew brees and russell wilson.

I would only trust Manning. No one since him (and maybe, maybe Mahomes may go that route) has been good enough to run a game themselves.

Rodgers is great but he believes his own hype.

Your talking like their ability to throw an amazing pass is linked to their ability to call plays, audible or generally run an offence? I don't think they are... look at Jason Garrett or probably numerous other OC's about the league as examples.

No I'm saying the exact opposite, the two are not linked. He listed a load of great QB's but none of them can run an offence on the field despite how great they are. Manning was the exception.

Yes, I'm asking about Mahomes though. What makes you say he could on two years experience when maybe someone like Brady couldn't?

Ah right.

Well we know Brady cannot, he's at the end of his career so it's factual saying he cannot.

Mahomes, just watching him at the line he seems to be making a lot of adjustments, his recent spate (well natured) with Reid and his linemen when he's asked to do things that don't work are what you used to see with Manning. Most likely be won't go that way and that he another brilliant QB which is fine, just a hunch I have that he may go into the Manning mold.

Apologies to our resident Redskins fan.... I'm glad Haskins had a stinker of a first game after the disrespect he showed to Jones during the draft I'm glad he's getting outplayed by Danny Dimes.

Raise your hand if you're going to stay up and watch Cowboys/Saints!

:raiseshand:

:D

;)

Check in tomorrow for my insightful commentary on the game. :D ;) :p

I so badly want to watch it but been half asleep for the last hour as it is and I'm in meetings solid 0800-1730 tomorrow (only getting about 5 and half hour sleep as well :p:()

I need Mixon to score 10.7 points or lower and I win my fantasy match up :p

Screwed myself putting in the Packers D and getting -1 instead of keeping Cowboys D and getting 11 points :(

Me neither, that's why I'm waiting to hear what Haskins did/said?

Personally I disagree. For most people watching and on the field, the play was over. I totally get you 'play to the whistle' and all that, but watch the replay again and pretty much everyone had stopped. Movement in the pile had stopped, there wasn't actually any indication it had been fumbled, until the defence were running back down the field. It was just a great heads up play by Breeland. Even the commentators thought the play was over and Breeland was just going through the motions, just in case.

There were one or two offensive players chasing, but I just don't think there's much to learn from that play. You keep hitting people just in case the whistle hasn't gone and you're going to be picking up a lot of flags.

I can't find the quotes but he was bad mouthing him about saying he should have been picked before him, that he wasn't good enough etc.

There's a video (the one thing I can find) about his reaction to Jones being drafted before him but it wasn't so much that as the comments

Rumours that Diggs is agitating for a leave from the Vikings due to his frustrations with Cousins. If he goes can't see who would go in for him, Pats maybe now they've lost Brown?
