Yep, it's recovered all it's losses, some people made a lot of money in the last few days betting against the pound.
And it cost us all £65 billion....

We're just about to find out if it's full of lefties or not.The independence of the OBR is going to be tested here, I wouldnt be surprised to hear noises from the Tories about getting rid of it.
Inc the Chancellors mates... Move along, nothing to see here.Yep, it's recovered all it's losses, some people made a lot of money in the last few days betting against the pound.
The mini budget also needs to survive a vote in Parliament which I expect it won’t.Finally! Hopefuly, ego's are put aside and work is done for the betterment of the country.
A valid point, how many Tories are going to go on record voting for the 45p cut? It's electoral suicide. The mini budget also needs to survive a vote in Parliament which I expect it won’t.

Any idea when it goes to vote? The mini budget also needs to survive a vote in Parliament which I expect it won’t.
Not yet. The OBR report comes on the 7th October so probably after that.Any idea when it goes to vote?
When they come back from recess i assume end of October, November maybe. Basically around the time the real budget comes out and the OBR forecast to accompany it.Any idea when it goes to vote?
I totally agree that money/personal finance should be taught in school. It's more important than any other subject and applies to everyoneHonestly, that really should be your default stance, especially if you have any kind of debt. Just spend on what you actually need without being frivolous. I've been watching my outgoings like a hawk for years so I'm not leaking money unnecessarily which is something my wife taught me when I met her. She took me from 20K in debt to 30K in savings. The only debt we have at the moment is paying off the house, seriously, managing money really needs to be taught in schools but I think the government would be wholly against this as it'll be mean people being more careful with money and not spend it.
I'm taking my pension now, I retired two years ago, they had me going for a bit, but they're no Robert Maxwell or Phillip Green
Are they reversing the stamp duty saving and the ir 35?You do realise Truss's team have already said they are going back on their manifesto and removing the triple lock this year?
And then vote for torres again?![]()
Archived Petition: Call an immediate general election to end the chaos of the current government
Call an immediate general election so that the people can decide who should lead us through the unprecedented crises threatening the UK.petition.parliament.uk
This madness worse than Boris needs to stop, demand a General Election!![]()
I don't think they did that, just backtracked on the inflation rise for other benefit claiments. You do realise Truss's team have already said they are going back on their manifesto and removing the triple lock this year?

It really is,
Historically I was a complete moron with money, I just wish I’d have had some earlier education on the matter.
Yes, it really should be taught in school.
