Is the cost of living measured in graphics cards now? What job did you do when you lived in Switzerland?
I loved living in Switzerland.

My ex partner and I lived in Montreaux and looked out onto Lake Geneva.

The only thing was the food or wine were not particularly good so we would drive over the border to France.

We had come from living in Paris so we were spoilt for the food and wine!

My ex partner did consulting type work on a contract, so was paid really well but even he said it was expensive at the time!

Don't ask exactly what because I don't have a clue!

He would be very happy with what the conservatives are doing, if he is still in the UK, as he would be top 1% over here.

If you want to ruin your weekend then check the value of your pension pots for a month ago and compare it to today.

Makes very very ugly reading. Over a year's worth of contribution just '....and its gone' like in South Park.
I shall be leaving mine where it is until these morons have long gone.

What is the mood up there about independence so far compared to 2014? Truss is a low rate substitute teacher with the brain compacity of a broken lightbulb compared to most. :p

Yeah my friend in Scotland said the exact same as you said about Labour being more aligned with the Tories. If Scotland gains independence, maybe you can take all of England from Birmingham upwards and if anyone from the south wants to run away from the Westminster cesspit, take em', more than merrier. :D
Personally, I don't think there's any chance of independence - even if there was another referendum (I don't think there will be) then I'm reasonably confident that the vote would go against.

I can only gauge the mood on closer family and work colleagues - my family voted conservative and they all regret that with the exception of one hard core homophobic snob. Most of my work colleagues are either English or from the NE of Scotland and they all hate Sturgeon are Tory first, Labour second, SNP never.

While you’re right (and many tracker funds like the Vanguard LifeStrategy will be showing similar, it shouldn’t really concern you unless you’re due to retire in the next <5 or so years.

Over the long term, on average, the markets trend up. I’ve got another ~30 years until retirement, this is just one of many dips on the market rollercoaster.

Well the stock markets have fallen a lot worldwide as have bonds. IMO you cant pin everything on this government..

I doubt there's many that would do that. Even stuff like LS100 is 'only' 14% or so (still too high)
Big UK bias tbh but the UK registered oilers, miners etc have done well this year. I just don't think people quoting FTSE 100 is a good gauge of the UK, its one of the worlds better performing stock indices this year.
