***21.9 Ultrawide Thread***

anyone having trouble with crysis 3 in 3440 x 1440? Sometimes it launches to the left of the screen, sometimes full screen but it's definitely rendering in a lower res, and it looks like it's 16:9 stretched

looked online for nearly an hour now and no-one seems to be having this issue. Also if I tab out then back in it blackscreens and I have to ctrl+alt+delete

worked fine for me,might be worth reinstalling the game

On that I agree. And I have no issue for the £1000 price, if is perfect with 0 dead pixels.

Still a rip off imo especially when you look at how much the LG 4k OLED 55" TVs cost, I would much rather pay a bit more and have that over any IPS/VA/TN g/free sync monitor.

On that agree. Especially since almost all new TVs from now on, will support Freesync.....

And indeed 55" OLED with Freesync at ~£1700 might be a bargain.
(current 55" 4K passive 3D Curved OLEDs going for that money, doubt they will charge more, is not gsync module, but just the hdmi 2.0 hardware).

show me a 4k OLED screen with sub 4ms response, 100+hz & gsync/freesync

Freesync we shall see, now is on HDMI 2.0....
As for the rest of the speds, the LG OLED are 120hz 0.1ms

Yes 0.1ms because they are not LCD :)

As above, OLED is SUPERIOR to any LCD display out there when it comes to motion clarity.

The only problem with OLED TVs (and all TVs for that matter) is the input lag, iirc, the OLED TVs have about 20-30ms of input lag, fine for single players but not MP FPS.

I would much rather have OLED over a LCD screen with g/free sync any day of the week, it is in another league when it comes to image quality and quite frankly makes LCD tech look absolute **** in comparison.

Exactly. I laugh heartily when I see people lauding all over these 50+" TV's and comparing them to PC monitors like there's any fair comparison to be made. I would say the product you suggest is a solid 5 years away at best, and I suspect when we do see such an item, it will make the price of the X34 today seem like a bargain!

the Acer Predator XR341CK is a Freesync model which overclocks without issue to 75Hz :)

Yeah I meant for the Dell and all the others without free/gsync. I know a bunch of people (about 20-30-ish) with the LG, AOC and Dell and not a single one can go past 62-65Hz. If the Dell can do 75 without skipping frames that's pretty darn good.

Let us know what you think of it, it was my choice as well but the larger curve is putting me off.

Will do, Mr DPD man is due here tomorrow. So I will aim to post some pictures and first thoughts on it.

Its going to be hell of a upgrade from my current Dell U2412M. :D

After agonising for weeks about ultrawide, I was all set to pull the trigger on LG 34UC88 this morning, but then I saw B-grade x34. Couldn't resist. Hope it's decent.

Ginga

I'm very happy with my LG still.. though after reading the posts higher i'm hoping nothing ever goes wrong with it :/

X34a or Z35

Hi all need some advice

I have an Aorus laptop x7 v5 2016 model.
I7 Skylake + dual 970m's in sli 6gb per card.
Laptop has mini display port 1.2 and Gsync.
Note I run all games in SLI and now want to purchase an external monitor ideally ultra wide.
Ideally I would like to purchase Predator x34a, however would two 970m's drive this ok or would I be better with the z35? Note I am happy running games at 60-75fps, with g sync on.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
