***21.9 Ultrawide Thread***

So two days ago when I got back home from work, turned on my rig and started browsing the internet I've noticed that:

Yup my 1080p gsync monitor has a horrible 4 pixel sized scuff in it that no one knows anything about.
I can't live with something like that so today I pulled the trigger on Predator x34A since it was the only monitor that I would upgrade to.

So now I'm wondering how will my 980ti cope with 3440x1440 resolution.
It's clocked at 1500/8000.
Anyone here running that resolution with 980ti.?

Yup, I have done. Generally you'll be fine, with the occasional knocking down of settings slightly :)

Cool I hope I won't be disappointed. I can live with 40+ fps and gsync for now and will probably get a second 980ti at some point or upgrade to 1080ti when/if that gets released.

Yeah youll be fine with 1 card for now, youll probably want a second in the future if you wanna max out the settings and add some AA to get rid of some jaggies.

anyone having trouble with crysis 3 in 3440 x 1440? Sometimes it launches to the left of the screen, sometimes full screen but it's definitely rendering in a lower res, and it looks like it's 16:9 stretched

looked online for nearly an hour now and no-one seems to be having this issue. Also if I tab out then back in it blackscreens and I have to ctrl+alt+delete

Works fine for me every time although, with everything dialed up to max, it's about the only thing that makes my 1080 sweat.

Bought a LG 34UC88 for my birthday on Friday. Promised myself that I wouldn't use it until then. It arrived today and I took it out of the box to inspect it and oh boy is it impressive looking. I just sat it on my desk and stared at it for 10 minutes. Wasn't even plugged in!

Life's too short man, treat yourself to an extra day ;)

Must resist...

Delayed gratification and all that!

The only thing with owning an ultrawide is that now I have to upgrade the rest of my hardware. My 2500K and 290X have been just fine for 1080p but I have a feeling it will struggle with the higher resolution.

In a way it is a good thing as I love PC building but there has been no reason for me to spend any money upgrading because nothing really demanded it.

P.S. Mods any chance you could remove the restriction on my account? I promise to be good!

Bought the same monitor today, due for delivery tomorrow.

Can't wait to see how my 390X copes with the jump from 1080P

To the peeps who've just bought a 34uc88, you're in for a treat. I got one a few weeks back. Currently using a 390x, to take advantage of the Freesync. It does a pretty decent job, really.

Good to know that I should get decent performance out of the old 290X!

Have upgraded to the 34UM88 wanted the flat version, screen is huge and so bright, running on 0 brightness and 5 contrast.

Love the 3440x1440 workspace you get :)
