2900xt owners\benchmarks thread

I realised that going the Shuttle route my Top End PC days were over.Just lately i've been getting the "Bug" again though.

Well I'm just waiting on the mythical 8.38 drivers to appear, hopefully they'll improve matters in most games, certainly the benchmarks look promising.

Did you read the link 3 posts back about the R600 being to hot even for LN yet amassed a huge Freq?

Its amazing how hot this card gets all over, the 1900 got prety hot but its like comparing a match to a bonfire.

My XTX used to in my Shuttle. It would idle at about 65c.This 7900GT is nowhere near as fast but it's very cool @47c idle.

Think its time to admit defeat trying to get this to run in a shuttle, it'll run for 10 mins tops before the northbridge is scalding hot and it shuts down. Tried a couple of different coolers on the bridge and no change. Seems the shuttle has finally met its match, a card that does fit inside but is far too heavy on requirements for it to run stably. :(
Have you tested with all the shuttle fans set to 100% speed in the bios to see if it would still auto shut down...

damn :<
i was hoping it would be ok as i was thinking of sticking one of these into my media pc

You must be gutted Gerard.:(

I shall probably wait now for the 65nm cards, they should be a whole lot better in terms of consumption.

Try the fan idea, it's fun anyway if nothing else, always thought mine was going to take off when I did that.

Use smartfan, ive truied with the fans at 100% but same thing really.

Funny thing is i sold my dfi crossfire mobo a couple of months back along with my aurora case and crossfire certified psu, now i wish i hadn't :(

I never ran them that fast for long, the noise on P2's is awesome at 100%.

Just running them all at 100% is a good way of checking whether it's the PS or the cooling.

I used to use XPC Tools, downloadable from Shuttle, very neat utility.
