2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-II HARD DRIVE - JUST £79 inc VAT

I got one in my basket I went all through the checkout and entered my security code for my card and click accept terms + conditions and clicked confirm order, the site processed the order and then seemed to crash I got the writing about the verified by visa but no login box loaded! and when I tried to refresh the page I was sent back to the checkout page saying you have already placed a order for a d-227-SE, as only one order per customer is allowed this order cannot be processed.

I have looked in my account and it isn't showing any orders!!!

Does this mean I've missed out??

exactly what happened to me :( oh well

Well looks like its time to remove my account from ocuk as im peed off that i had the damn drive in my basket entered card details 3 times through to confirm order then it says " We are sorry but we have run out of HD-227-SE, we do have this amazing offer from Hitachi for you though"

BYe Bye OCUk Good BLoody riddance!!!

1 unhappy customer never to return!!!!

Bye :)
Make sure the door doesnt hit your ass on the way out! :D

tbh as a first time use of ocuk ive came here specifically for the widely advertised deal.

Clearly the whole idea of the promo (as all promos/loss leaders) is to attract new custom to the site, on the premise that they will order more than the promo item, either now or in the future.

however it does not fill me with confidence when a company with the audacity to call themselves
overclockers, clearly have hardware/net pipe themselves that cannot handle the traffic.

so thanks for the great times oc but i wont be back!

I completely agree, P.R nightmare for ocuk this was:(

1:29 - coming soon
1:30 - sold out
1:31 - 48 left

urmmmmm???

how can you go from sold out to 48 left, clearly your site is badly coded and under-resourced.

I never got any further than adding it to my basket without the white screen of death :(

Got mine. I browser refreshed from 13:25 and got one in my basket at 13:31...took me until 13:42 to place the order though due to website load.

Once I added one to the basket it reduced the number on the website from 50 to 46 available, so I take that once you had added to the basket it was reserved. Just had to be patient and wait for the site bandwidth to settle and I checked out. Email confirmation too.

Good times!

I have spent more than 1500 pounds on the website, so even if I dont use the forums doesnt mean that Im not allowed to complain , ok suckers ?

seagate special offer

what a load of rubbish couldn't even get to the checkout.
was is really worth annoying so many customers, you need a much better system can I be of any interest supplying it to you. as your hardware sucks.

What they should have done was slip the offer in, and avoided the site meltdown.
It would have the benefit of people checking the site more regularly to see if theyre missing any offers.

I think some are entitled to moan that got in their basket but then failed due to a POS failure. That's not like the lottery at all really is it. Infact the only way it's like the lottery is if you forgot to buy a ticket and then your numbers came up!

Companies often do not judge demand well at all , this then happens. That's like saying there are free flights out of Heathrow, first come first served and then putting two people on security, it's gonna go wrong. Wise up I say

ahahahah glad I didn't bother now, as I could have predicted the result.

As to all the whining people, grow up you didn't get there in time or simply got unlucky with your connection.

Come on guys

Spie is very clever business man. He did that to bring people to his shop. that's why his business is very successful.

If I own a computer shop, i'd love to have spie to run my shop

Nope. Mine was added to basket, and by the time it got through all the hammering of the site and made it to checkout, they were "all gone".

As you say - thats how most reputable companies operate... 1 in basket = 1 less available.

Damn, the mods are quick at editing/removing posts!!!!

yep, they are deleting our posts complaining at how badly this promotion was run:(

be careful, they will ban your forum account for a few days too quite often for this, they don't like constructive feedback, just your ££ :P
