No its not, that would mean you could add it to your basket sit for weeks and they would only have 1 in stock that you had in your basket but can't sell it cause its in your basket - thats not how online companys work, baskets are there to be helpful not to reserve items.
 
I have got a comfirmation in my account of a successful order but no email yet. Hopefully all will be well with the order.
I know a lot of people will jump on me here for being a new forum member, but I did used to used overclockers a lot when I built PC's a few years ago.

So having 50 happy people, and several hundred/thousand unhappy is a good way to run a business?? Word of mouth is worth much more than advertising.... and this will have done nothing to "add" sales, if only due to the way the servers crashed and the items that were in your basket were "no longer available".

No we are not. You can see most of the replies are still up. People on the other hand are swearing and other things which break the forum rules.

You will only be suspended if you break the rules.
 
The site wouldn't even show for about 15minutes for me so I stood no chance, not bitter I didn't get one but agreed it was badly run
 
Some of the first time posters are probably long-term customers of OCs, perhaps that's why there was no minimum posts required.

I had it in the basket but then the server died... shame it didn't reserve the item once it is in the basket... the fish that got away! Interestingly I tried the OCs home page on another machine and that was dead as well (not surprising) - I wonder how many unsuspecting customers shopping for other things got kicked out without knowing why...

head over to ****** thay have good deals too.. sometimes you just have to vary your suppliers. im a small business and even though ocuk dont provide discounts to me i get good deals from time to time its s shame there so far apart..

Yes totally agreed with you. OCUK is the best business, the best overall.

Like OCUK did told you all, first serve, first come to grab this special offers, some wins, some loses, just get on with normal purchase then.
 
I've ordered before from OCUK, joined in jan 2007, but never had a forum ID. I suppose I'm not good enough for you guys?

FYI, I got as far as the confirmation page, but it wouldn't load the delivery panel and therefore wouldn't allow me to add in a confirmation date - for the guy who's getting his on the 18th - I'd have been happy with that, as it's my birthday :)
By the time I got my CC security number in, they'd all gone. Apparently having it in your basket means nothing on the internet - real shops *** there then ;)

It's nothing to do with being a loyal customer or whatever, did the promotional speel mention loyalty? It said forum members, and most of you specifically registered on the forum just so you qualified for the promotion.

Disgraceful.
 
If you get a message saying you cannot order another one as you've already ordered one then surely you've got one. I took time out from work to do this, was here on time, on the button, item in basket and done the 3d secure code. What more do you have to do. Come on OCUK....if people can prove valid orders you should let them have them.
