2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-II HARD DRIVE - JUST £79 inc VAT

Fairplay on honouring the other 14 lads! That's good, but....

... I think overall you may have annoyed more people than made people happy with the website going so slowly and timing out on so many of us during the order process. Although it has certainly got ocuk attention / new members it is never worth upsetting the current lot (I might not be a regular forum poster but use the shop a lot).

Did seem a bit unfair but it was supposed to be forum people only and someone leaked it onto a well known deals sight that was a forum member I guess. So if people dont keep these things under their hats expect them to get silly quickly.

I was lucky this time I am sure I wont be next time.

Your Order has been packed and is in the process of being shipped.

^^ now thats quick play!

Moleh

i've had my shipping notice so i must have gotten one.

i would like to point out though that although i am new to the forum (mainly because the previous times i tried to register i couldn't because i had a yahoo email account) i have been a loyal OcUK customer for over 5 years.

congrats to everyone that managed to get one and sorry to those that didn't

Same I only have 300 posts but have been buying pretty much exclusively from ocuk for over 5 years now. Thanks a bunch for this drive ocuk!! Very much appreciated and will finally ease my long term problem of not enough space.

You can compare it because in the end it came down to pure luck as to whether you got a drive or not.

If I went to a lottery machine, put my numbers in and then the system went **** up or even not let me do my numbers then we can compare it but not like this.

The fact is OCUK system couldn't handle it.

tried and failed to get one. :(

seems it was poorly organised and setup, thought ocuk would have learned from the mess up that was the msi promotion but seems not.

To be fair the MSI promotion was not prepared at all for and systems in place to throttle unusual activity caned it (as they should). That didn't happen this time but we have actually learned more due to the measures put in place this time.

I think the premise of the promotion will always cause some degree of mayhem though - you can't form an orderly queue, you have to all try and shove through the door at the same time, some people will lose out unfairly.

Out of interest, how much of the poor peformance is due to throttling and protection systems in place as a result of the DOS attacks on OCUK last year or 2008 whenever it was?

Still in my basket

Just logged onto OCUK to check my order status and I've still got one of the cheap drives in my basket, I've gone through to the payment screen and it's all going through, very tempted to order a 2nd ;-)
