3090 is NOT a gaming card - Gamers Nexus DESTROYS the 3090

Only card I’ve been toying with after looking at reviews but as it’s all pre-orders anyway I’m going to at least wait and see if AMD bring anything worthwhile to the table first.

Hopefully there may be stock turning up by then anyway if AMD do disappoint.

Would be gutted to spend this sort of wedge on a GPU just to find out that AMD have knocked its socks off!

I just bought a 1000w power supply now I know it goes to 480W

Oh..don't feed the troll in the room ;)

First world problems - trivial problem or annoyance experienced by people in relatively affluent or privileged circumstances especially as contrasted with problems of greater social significance facing people in poor and underdeveloped parts of the world.

Hardware Unboxed just totally slated the 3090.

Their benchmarks put a Factory OC 3080 within touching distance at 4k of the 3090FE. Not even the fastest Factory OC models either.

Aurus Extreme, KingPin and MSI Lightning models are going to be 3090 performance out of the box without any messy overclocking and likely all for under 900 squid.

So OC 3080 is 15% faster than stock when every other review shows 5%? Plus a strix 3090 stock is 20% faster than 3080

edit: Here you go https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-geforce-rtx-3090-strix-oc/37.html

All cards overclocked to max for comparison, 3090 is 23% faster than 3080 and 51% faster than 2080ti

I find it hilarious how people who cant debate their point start calling people trolls and calling for bans etc.

How about grow some brain cells and come up with a point that you can argue. I know its hard for the ********** to understand but not everyone is going to drink your coolaid and agree with you.

thats BRILLIANT.. they have censored the word for a flake of snow. ohhh the irony

what is there to argue? You want to use a 3080 while others want to use a 3090. You're happy with your card and it's price/performance and people who have purchased a 3090 are happy with its price/performance. Nobody is going to cancel their 3090 order because some random on a forum gets all upset of their purchasing choice. Move on.

Lol you should watch more of his videos.

You realise these people have to recommend them or they dont get test cards?

Not true for big reviewers, big reviewers just buy hardware if anyone stops sending it not that they will. Msi still sends products to GN even though steve put out a hit against them

No it isnt.

Shadow of the tomb raider its 17.8% with 480W power limit. That is insane. That is compared to the cheapest & slowest 3080 versus the most expensive 3090 so far.

Talk about skewing the figures. Strix vs Strix there would be around 10% in it still. I dont get why you people dont understand the 24GB VRAM doesnt make any difference. The scaling is linear. But it still doesnt change the fact the 3080 Strix OC is 97% of a 3090 FE at 1400 quid.

Again the Strix 3080 is 840 quid. The 3090 is a grand more expensive to get 10% which is lunacy.

In control with RTX that buys you about 4 FPS which is 250 quid a frame lol

No they dont. MSI dont send them anything. Thats why Steve askes viewers to loan him cards

I feel like the value proposition of the 3090 will be a *bit* more favourable in a couple of years once that 10gb 3080 VRAM limit is being fringed upon. I bought an MSI Gaming X Trio 3090 just because I could. I'm not particularly wealthy or anything, I just live a clean life and don't have crippling debt.

Do have to wonder about how a prospective 3080 Ti or Super would hold up though, especially if the rumoured 20gb versions are true.

similar thing happened when I bought 3x GTX 680 2GB didn’t take long for the 4GB to become more favorable and needed for some games

In 2 years time the 3090 will be blown out of the water by a card which is half its price and even more powerful. Even so i have 11GB now and ive not seen a game that hits more than 8GB. People also forget that to use that much Vram you have to run 4X MSAA which cripples frame rates. Soon as you drop the MSAA the VRAM usage drops massively.

In 3 months time there is likely to be a 3080 Super with equal performance if AMD come out and challenge the 3080.

This will trigger all the the RTX3090 haters

FX right now:

10% isn't worth paying over double for and even if money is no issue then get the 3080 and donate the difference to your local food bank.

I've seen them available in stock as recently as yesterday at other places. The availability is nowhere near as bad as 3080. Besides I think most of us have already pre ordered. Mine is due early next week.
