I really really really hope that this whole 10% faster than 3080 is flat out not true. I have been wanting to buy a 3090 ever since announcement. However if this is the best Nidia can do for over double the cost of the 3080 I will stick with my 2080 TI and give the middle finger to Nvidia. What about everyone else planning on getting the 3090 ? will you still pay that much money for only 10% gains?

It is speculation although the Chinese firm who leaked it again were right about the 3080 . At least it gives us something to do before the release at any rate.

When do we get real benchmarks?

TBH though I was a little disappointed with the 3080 benchmarks, which all used the 2080Ti with zero OC as a comparison point, rather than one with a reasonable OC curve.

I guess because so far there is no such thing as a reasonable 3080 OC curve, apparently the drivers aren't quite there yet.

From what a couple of reviewers have said we won't be getting reviews before launch!

Seems they haven't been given review units at all. Unless that has changed in the last couple of days but i haven't seen anything.

If that is the case then it's a good thing as it means the RTX 3080 isn't a gimped gaming card, they could have made it slower to make the 3090 look better.
The 3090 is mainly targeted for non-gaming tasks that required the extra ram and enterprise users will be happy to pay for it.

If you want more wait for the 3080ti.

I too were primed and ready to pull the trigger on a 3090. The leaks from Teclabs were in 4k and average out at 10% with some variance. Lowest was on BL3 at 4.7% faster than 3080 in 4k Ultra. Disappointing if true and leaves me in a quandary as I was hoping to get an order in early doors for the 3090 expecting a noticeable increase in performance. If NV arnt sending out review samples before launch then that pretty much cements the idea the card isn't performing at the level they expected. To me, the 3090 is a confusing proposition. NV say it is the "ultimate gaming experience" and has "titan level.performance". NV are therefore pushing it as a gaming card - unlike the Titan and then offering a small increase in Fps and asking for 2 x the price of a 3080. Not having ordered a 3080 theres no point jumping on board now so I may just have to wait for 28th Oct and see how everything stacks up from there.

I generally don't believe that will be the case , I think at 1080p and 1440 yes it will be only 10% because it will be bottlenecking but at 4k it should be a good 20% extra is my guess.

both the leaked bench marks say otherwise so far.

we now know where the names came from 3080 + 10 = 3090

yeah I know now why the 3080 don’t have nvlink. Two 3080s in SLi would destroy the 3090

It really isn't much better than the 2xxx series. It's the pricing of the 3080 that is giving Ampere the hype.

2080 to 2080ti was a far bigger jump than 3080 to 3090. I guess the 3090 would be more powerful if nvidia were able to do it.

Watt for watt, the 3080 is only about 15% quicker. So, I'm overall pretty dissapointed this gen as I already have a good overclock on a Water-cooled 2080ti.

Look at the size comparisons between 3080 and 3090 . The 3090 is just huge in comparison how on earth could that only equate to 10%??

Going off the Videocardz leak, compared to the 3080 the 3090 is:

5.5 FPS faster in Metro Exodus
8 FPS faster in HZD
8 FPS faster in Far Cry
6 FPS faster in AC
8 FPS faster in Tomb Raider
6.4 FPS faster in BL3
12 FPS faster in Death Stranding
5 FPS faster in Control

I honestly expected more for £750 extra.

Not only does this leak make the 3090 look bad and the 3080 look good, it also makes the 6900XT look better if it will dual with the 3080.

Having sold my 2080Ti a month ago my PC is good for Web browsing at the moment. I picked up my Aorus Xtreme day 1 from OcUK almost 2 years ago. A quick phone call and next day delivery. Easy. Worked perfectly. No regrets as it was a good card and had plenty of use. This time around demand is through the roof so I have little hope of getting anything anytime soon unless I opt for a Palit :)

Going by this thread the Aorus Xtreme 2080ti was not available on day 1 of release

Wow this makes the 3080 look even better if true.
Where does the 3080ti exactly a lot in then??

As someone who would never buy a 3090, this just makes me happy lol
