30xx Series Founders Edition

They're making them by hand like the Russian 3DFX modern board makers.

His oven isn't big enough to cater to the demand..

I would expect better supply towards the end of Oct/early Nov despite Nvidia's announcement given AMD just showed they are roughly on par with the 3080. Would just gift sales to AMD if not.
I saw that. Just one game if I remember correctly and does it make use of RT and/or DLSS? A quick search of BL3 shows it as an AMD title too. Will navi play with g-sync? That rules it out for many.

I'll just hope something is available by the time I start playing a game where I feel a few more FPS needed.

I bet the ruskie 3dfX enthusiast get more built haha!

I got two newly made voodoo 2s off him. He actually managed to source original 3DFX chips.

Beauties!

Gosh I hope NVIDIA delivers, I'd really just snap up a Navi card to get working if I need to.

Thursday came and went with no drops from Nvidia. API still down. Hmm.

Newegg (hope I can mention them, they don't ship to the UK) sold like 400 cards on eBay in the middle of the night for US and Canada, gone in around 5 minutes (the latter took longer). Again, no international shipping.

EU seems to have been dealt a bit of a crap hand with these.

I was fortunate enough to have randomly noticed stock available during the first drop so it had taken most by surprise, which gave me enough time to get in and grab one. Now, everyone is pointed at it awaiting a supply drop.

The fact is, these just aren't being produced in large volumes yet. It's strange because they could print money with these cards, so why not throw every resource at the manufacture process?

Maybe they are but there's no more capacity.
Would love to see the stats of how many sold, and notably how many sold at this stage of the release vs previous generations. I think it's probably huge and just maybe they've actually got enough out there than before just that the demand is much more than they thought.

Regarding the EU being dealt a bad hand - better hope American's don't complain to Trump otherwise NV will be banned from selling GPU's to gamers abroad until every American who wants one has one in their hands :D.

Doesn't make sense because not only are they constantly out of stock, there's very few people that actually own one.

Yeah, probably an incorrect thought there on my part. Not really looked around to see but think you're probably right. Thought it'd be unlikely they're knocking out less at this stage than previous releases and they've stated themselves it's the demand.

Anyone with 3080 FE, do you have coil whine?

I am still waiting to get lucky to snatch FE or eventualy waiting for TUF preorder from local official distributor, I managed to borrow FE from friend, but I am experiencing bad coil whine.
Under small load (SWTOR) it quite noisy coil whine, but when under full load its much much worse, can be heard strong from several meters, in close proximity it's unbearable.

Btw, here we got just few dozens cards at launch day and nothing after, There are axpected 3 pieces of new gigabyte models on 28th this month and like two more pieces few weeks later which is realy lauchable. During 2000 series there was several hundreds of cards available during same perriod of time.
I guess UK and US got most of cards and rest of smaller countries got left dry.

It would be logical from nvidia to expect more than 10 times volume with huge price drop against 2080ti, but to me, it looks like 3080 volume is actually much smaller than 2000 series had.

Does your friend have the coil whine when using it? My FE 3090 is the quietest card I've had in some time and don't get any coil whine.
