30xx Series Founders Edition

Good lad, that's what PC's are for after all, benchmarking! :p
Trust me I've got my money's worth out of it already and am holding off a reinstall until the big DLC comes round :p

Tempted to reinstall again just for the last few achievements though :D

Just remembered I also captured spiderman (very cpu bound!) a day or 2 ago to show where DLSS is providing better IQ than native + SMAA so done the same loop with the new driver update, look at that improvement!

Would be interesting to see how much benefit better cpus like the 5800x3d benefit.

Spiderman is a game I refuse to acknowledge having played it and got my refund. It has weird CPU spikes that no other game has, it uses an engine that no other PC game uses, so the high CPU usage is some weird glitch in the engine that will likely never be concluded. My 12700KF was seeing spikes up to 85% CPU usage which is completely abnormal for a game engine as there's nothing on display that warrants that kind of CPU usage. Cyberpunk for example saw nothing higher than the 35-50% range at the same res and that's with all the RT stuff enabled.

It was also quite bland for my tastes and didn't feel like a full of life city like Cyberpunk did!

IIRC, DF stated it was down to the way the BVH was being done on the fly or/and using the CPU more, can't remember exactly though but agree! CP 2077 trumps it in every way. This driver update seems to have helped massively in it though! I mean look at this particular bit, obviously not frame for frame but you can see in the above videos, same area and at some point the frames would be more or less like for like.

Thats is what I will be doing, as there literally is sod all left on the map to do or buy.

You have about 80 extra hours on your steam clock though and less achievements. Was most the time spent benching? :p

One or two of my achievements may require a new playthrough unfortunately though as you can redistribute attributes as far as I know. Unless there is a mod that lets you without breaking achievements or something like that.

Improvements are always welcome! Well timed though don’t you think, helps clear out some of that 3000 stock ;)

More like we will show 4090s have a wider improvement on older drivers for Ampere and later release the drivers that 4090 reviewers had to everyone with Ampere enabled. Nvidia games never end, so now reviewers really need to redo their 4090 reviews to show real uplift from Ampere to Ada. It's all software nerfing these days, like how DLSS 3 doesn't work on older cards and only 40 series but been hacked to work on 20 and 30 series too. Ada is nothing more than Ampere with more cores and cache.

Not at all! I had a 2070 Super remember for 120 hours or so of play time so it was pointless benching on that as I didn't even use RT properly until the 3080 Ti dropped on my lap :p

Most of the extra hours was spent exploring, finding things, looking at the graphics in game and generally doing what I did in GTA 5, being an unsavoury citizen :p

The remaining achievements I have left are arguably tedious ones, having had a look at them I cba doing some of them because faff, also the buy all vehicles one is impossible as spent all my money on crap!

Rough Landing is one I need to do, others I think I did. I have over 200K credits still after buying all cars and all apartments etc. There is nothing left to buy. I used to make tons of credits from crafting as I recall :D

They are all out of stock this morning.

I wonder if they pulled some of the stock. Surely people weren’t buying 3080Ti’s for 930 quid.

…were they?

3080ti fe is still in stock all the rest are sold out, I only noticed it because on a Reddit MSFS channel they decided to buy 3090ti fes for msfs instead of the 4090 after seeing the mess it made with dlss 3 and on native made no difference in performance. 3080ti fe will be gone soon too at this rate by the weekend.

Tinfoil hat on. I get the feeling nVidia has released DLSS 3 a little earlier than it should have. They've used it to show the insane uplift in FPS for the new 4 series but obviously didn't highlight any of the issues it currently faces.

Meanwhile, the sites/youtubers who've done in-depth analysis on it have pulled it apart a little, highlighting the flaws. This should have a knock-on effect of helping to sell 3 series cards.

I can then see DLSS 3 getting a major update shortly after that stock has cleared and all of the focus is on the 4 series. There's no chance nVidia leaves it in its current state as it's going to be crap on the lower end 4 series.

Just noticed myself that all the 30 series FE cards are sold out. Was going to pick up a lower end one for someone. Looks like not now.

Also can't help but notice that the prices for all the other 30 series cards seem to be creeping up in price (some by a fair bit), this site included. No doubt they would claim the usual reasons (IE. exchange rate, Brexit, Covid, Supply etc.) :(
