30xx Series Founders Edition

Improvements are always welcome! Well timed though don’t you think, helps clear out some of that 3000 stock ;)

If this had been amd, it would be called "fine wine" and how amd are saints for people still running older gpus :p :D

But yes, odd timing, however, could possibly just be down to nvidia finally trying to sort any cpu bottleneck issues as the 4090 is being held back by the cpu in a lot of scenarios especially at resolutions <4k

Just having a look at games I am currently playing, none of them are DX12 :o
I thought Doom Eternal was DX12 but it's Vulkan lol. Callisto Protocol is the next game I am getting to be DX12.

So, question is, would you have ordered a 3060Ti knowing it was one of the original ones, or would you have waited for what is essentially a free upgrade on the newer versions?
Debatable whether it would be an "upgrade" or not. The 3070 Ti was a joke of a card that saw a 5% performance uplift from the 3070 whilst consuming an extra 80W of power (comparing FE vs FE). And some of that 5% was from the extra CUDA cores and higher clocks, not the memory. GDDR6X does very little for this GPU, and in its 3060 Ti form it has even fewer cores to keep fed (a deficit of 1024 versus the regular 3070). I'd much rather keep the great power efficiency that the 3060 Ti and 3070 have, which was by far the best perf/watt of Nvidia's lineup pre-4090.

Nvidia's driver has had significantly higher CPU overhead than AMD's in DX12 for a long time (the opposite of how it was in DX11). Digital Foundry have noted it on many occasions. This is presumably their attempt at fixing that.

Just 2 games from me as didn't have any other dx 12 games with benchmarks (5600x and 3080 @ 3440x1440)

Were the Cyberpunk ones with RT enabled and RT set to Psycho and Lighting above it set to Psycho as well? I just reinstalled the game to test the benchmark with these drivers and got, all other settings on highest, this driver has upped the average more than before it seems.

Funnily enough I did a benchmark today on the older drivers using same settings as you and I got higher fps than that :p

I guess I will be getting similar to mrk once I update :)

Will do it tomorrow and see what’s what.

Great stuff though, you essentially got nearly 3080 Ti performance there with that driver. Now all you need is a link from Nvidia to download 2GB more vram

Just seen that Prime members can get the 3090 Ti AMP for £1090 - In the USA it's under $1000. That's surely the cheapest it has ever been?

Slightly miffed, but not by much as that's not far off what I paid for the 3080 Ti months ago!

Aren't second hand 3090s going for £700/750 now? 3080ti isn't far behind 3090/tis tbf.

I got my 3080 Ti for £575 recently. You should buy the 3090 Ti and sell your 3080 Ti to Nexus for £575

I'd still need a new PSU as mine is a Phanteks 750W AMP, iirc 850 is min req for a 3090 Ti?

Anyways, only the FE cards suit my build, so ditching this is out the question!

Did you look at the map with these drivers?

Spotted a post on 3dGuru that said it was corrupted, and sure enough, it is for me as well.

Oh well, shudda known, always, always, wait for the hotfix drivers!
I did not1 Straight to benchmark, screenshot then uninstall lol.
