39 Bodies found in Lorry in Essex

Have they updated the story as I can't see any mention of a curtainsider

Have you looked at the article they're quoting?

It looks like that lorry is rammed full and they're ripped the curtain to and increase the flow of fresh, cool air. Sadly it seems like neither the immigrants or the driver in that case got caught.

Ahh, doh...I clicked the link in his following post

With utmost respect, being charged doesn’t mean that someone’s guilty, or will found to be guilty.

I don't think the police would get this one wrong.

If it is found guilty at trial. It should get 15 years for each death.

That's not how it works.

But considering this is such a gross offence, it's likely the first verdict will be life with parole (assuming that there's sufficient evidence to say he didn't expect it to occur and that he phoned the services), before appeals.

We don't know about the other offences which will change the verdict.

Remanded in custody until November 25, without bail.

Facebook groups are full of drivers saying things like “it’s not fair”, he’s a “fall guy”, “taking a hit for somebody way above him” etc etc etc and I’ve had a few harsh replies to my take on this that he’s involved ,be it at whatever level in the organisation, he knew the risk (in so far as to his Liberty, I don’t think for a minute he ever thought of those being trafficked) so it’s tough luck paddy, hope you like porridge!

I’m absolutely certain that had he just been some unwitting driver who’d picked up the trailer and subsequently came across the dead inside the trailer then the police investigation thus far would have established this clearly and he’d be in the clear.

The crux of it in my eyes is his charge of money laundering, there’s plenty of photos of his new cars ,high living etc doing the rounds and I’m guessing that’s the part that he can’t explain and that’s what’s nailing him.

How would a judge approach sentencing for this. I can't he'll get a whole life tariff for example. Difficult as nothing like this before.

Plenty of discussion on trucking groups about how one minute he’s running around in bangers the next he’s taking exotic holidays and drives a pickup with a personal plate,a few pointers to this on his Instagram page, on top of him being only 25 and being able to afford all this on top of supposedly running his own truck, maybe a bit of jealousy on the part of others who don’t have such good fortune, who knows.

But, predominantly trucking groups are frequented by people who know the costs involved in running a truck and the rewards, the gist seems to be he’s got there a bit quicker than you’d usually manage.....

The families of the dead all seemed well aware of what the others were doing but don't seem to find anything wrong with attempting to enter other countries illegally.
