A 7970 for gaming won't cope at such resolutions, unless reducing settings or running at lower resolution.

To play the latest games, maxed out at such resolutions will probably required 290X/780Ti and even then maybe a pair of them in SLI/Crossfire. It will depend on the game.

If that can do picture by picture mode at 60Hz 1920x on each that would be so much win for multi boxing Eve Online - might have to get one :S

Cheers Gibbo. So it would be a GPU upgrade as well. If I go sli I think I need a new PSU and motherboard as my board only has 1 x16 slot I think (Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard)
I will aminly be playing Arma 3 and Star Citizen when it is out.

Pretty much my thinking! Having all that vertical real estate would be awesome. Or multibox 4 clients at 1080p each!! Madness.

Your motherboard will do 8x 8x SLI / crossfire so will be fine for multi GPUs. You may need to upgrade your CPU to an i7 to get the best out of the cards.

Cheers Firefly. Just doing some sums now. I have clocked the CPU. I would just do a full upgrade if changing to an i7 (Haswell instead of Ivy)

I have this weird thing where I can use multi clients on the same monitor (using borderless window mode so I can just move the mouse straight between them) almost as easily as 1 client but when spread over multiple panels (or alt-tabbing) it just all comes apart.

At 1080 even a clocked i5 will bottleneck high end cards in SLI / Crossfire in some games (BF3 / 4 and some others). I'm not sure if this will be the same at 4K.

I got pretty good at managing up to 3 clients using windowed mode and the start bar to switch between them. 4 and up and something would sometimes go wrong. Tengu's left decloaked 12km off a gate etc etc, never got caught out though which was lucky!

I digress, this would be super useful though, could literally have 2 or 3 scouts open around your main window in the middle.
