I've pre-ordered this monitor but i'm a bit concerned with one aspect. I can't stand screen tearing so I thought with the g-sync it wouldn't make a difference that it's 60hz refresh rate. Is this correct? As I'm seeing g-sync monitors with 144hz refresh rate.
I've got a 780 Ti to power the monitor. Is there a chance of screen tearing with this 60hz monitor? I won't be expecting to run this @ 4k, 1080p is fine for gaming for the time being. With an upgrade path for the future.
I'm not sure what the difference between the two are? G-sync 60hz v 144hz?
144hz will refresh every 7ms or so 60hz every 16.6ms. 144hz will feel more fluid but as it is anything over 60hz at 4k can't be done. There are some Strong rumors this monitor will do 1080 @ 120hz also and quite possibly 90hz+ at 1440p, so you do have some room for negotiation if your current hardware isn't quite up to running some games at 4k.
You know when you're eagerly awaiting a product when you're checking several times a day to see if your monitor has been sent, despite knowing that it won't be delivered until release.
