4k2k Display with NVIDIA® G-SYNC - Acer XB280HK

I contacted OCUK last week to find out if the order is due to be delivered those two days (5-6 Sept), or else I need to change my delivery address to work.

I am told that stock is expected on the 5th. :( Which means deliveries possibly start Monday next week.

Kinda gutted tbh. As I was looking forward to my birthday :(

(ofc my car seems dead which means new car for birthday also, if the gasket is blown as expected)

Hopefully it won't be too long away. I am off for 2 weeks from Monday (next week) and would be nice to have it for some heavy gaming :)

Not holding my breath, the 1080 Acer gsync that was due yesterday is now just listed as 'overdue'.

Nothing solid by the weekend its getting swapped out for a swift, I've waited long enough to sample gsync, can do without yet another loosely fitted release date.

Hi there

Acer being in touch this week, the product is delayed! :(

Reasoning, short supply on G-Sync modules, hence why the air freight never happened.

They have now agreed to air freight our entire shipment of these, which is just shy of 500pc of the 4k and 250pc the 1080P so they arrive with us first week of October.

We still have plenty spare as we've pre-sold about 80pc of the 4k and around 30pc of the 1080P. :)

Sorry for the delay guys.

No worries Gibbo. No bday present this year :(

do it, to be honest at 80cm away I can't really tell the difference between 1440p with decent AA and 4K, the Swift opens up so many options (high refresh, ULMB, gsync, 3D) that I am glad I made the jump

if there were 4K at ~39" it would be worth it, but at 27-28" it doesn't really make that much of a difference

you joking? No thanks another month delay first place you should not take money and hold for 3 month no reliable company. I would like my money back paypal claim raised. you should give correct date or not advertise pre order at all. Thanks for great service

That was my logic too, I was tempted by 4k but it just seems like a recipe for spending far too much on GPUs for the next decade, I went through that by buying a 30" 1600p monitor when everyone else was on 900p or 1080p.

The swift on the other hand is actually less pixels (16:9 vs 16:10) than my old screen, and with gsync I won't care if I can't hit 144hz all the time.

Nice voice of reason as always Andy cheers :)

Going to get my pre order refunded, given only 80 units have sold from an allocation of 500pc, I'm not going to loose out should I decide to go for the Acer next month.

What's annoyed me the most is Acer waiting until 4 days before the proposed date to reveal they can't make it. No one can honestly tell me they only realised this week they wouldn't be able to fulfil the order.

As is its looking like Asus win my money.

I will wait.

At the end of the day, is a great monitor which I want and it has no competitor out there.

An ETA stands for estimated time of arrival. The date given to us by Acer themselves.

We chased them for weeks for an update, we finally got it and latest from them was they apologise but due to NVIDIA not supplying the G-Sync module in time caused the delay. They now have modules and are building the monitors which shall be air-freighted end of September with an ETA of first week of October.

It has also being two months not three and if you wanted a refund it is something you can request at any time via webnote or by simply calling us, you don't actually need to make a claim.

Our service is above and beyond, but just like other companies we are in the hands of the manufacturer.

These things happen and I will wait. I loved 4K and G-Sync was the icing on the cake for me, so another month won't kill me. People are frustrated and showing emotion but 4 weeks will soon go guys. I am the worlds worst for waiting as well :D
