5 weeks on and still Mac Pro issues, opinions.

I'd question what fraction of the hardware aspect of this world-of-difference has any impact on a great many people buying Mac Pros.

If you have the money (I.e not bought on credit) then I don't see the problem. If I could justify the money I'd have one and I don't need the power.

If you need a number crunching power you get a workstation running either OS X or Linux and if your work is media related you get a Mac Pro. It's a no brainer.

It's Apple's way of spiting you because you bought a nerfed Mac Pro (quad) ;)

Seriously though, if you do try different peripherals and the machine still has a problem you might have grounds for a full refund as per the The Sale of Goods Act 1979 (section 14) *fit for purpose*

Obviously, you would have to provide a record that you have done everything in your power to exhaust all possible problems (which it sounds like), but pressure Apple and I'm sure you could get a replacement sent.

Write them a letter, send it via recorded delivery and use words such as "extremely disappointed" and you'll be suprised how much you can achieve.

So, if you do absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing, other than move your mouse around the mouse stops moving?

Can you time the pauses or is it seemingly at random intervals?

But your new Bluetooth keyboard is unaffected by any pauses as long as you don't touch the USB mouse?

(I'm bored and quite curious)

I'm annoyed at my Unibody having bad visual tearing ever since the day i got it.

Update the 9600M GT drivers apple gawd!

Is the mouse plugged in to the USB port on the keyboard? (when using wired)

I generally avoid that, and go straight for a port in the back of the PC/Mac.

Could be the 2.4Ghz spectrum is also congested from the Bluetooth, WiFi etc which is causing the stutters? (the receiver is flooded with interference)

As the issue is clearly random, and if you can repeat the symptoms at an Apple store, my advice would be take it there and demand a refund.

I use Windows and it's fine (my Vista install hasn't crashed in ages) but if I relied on my computer I'd use either OS X (my first choice) or Linux. Exactly as I do now, all serious work at home is done on my Mac.

What an absolutely ridiculous statement. I rely on my computer (self employed, if I'm not working, I'm not earning) and run Vista without any problems whatsoever.

His point was his opinion, I think. I can't speak for him.

I have found Windows 7 to be stable enough to use on a day-to-day basis, and in fact I can't remember a time when XP or Vista crashed, but I'd still use OS X.

As I think you'd agree.. it's down to personal preference and trust.

Put it this way, my USB mighty mouse, bluetooth KB, USB keyboard, 5 year old Microsoft USB mouse all work *perfectly* on the MBP.

They also work perfectly in Windows 7.

Its 100% a OS X driver/system issue.

Like I said, if you can prove that the machine is at fault then get it sent back for a refund.

I don't understand why you're putting up with it..

This happened to me with bluetooth one time and i found out it was conflicting signals.

Have you tried a different bluetooth receiver. They're about £5.

That's great news for you but it isn't a valid reason to define my opinion as ridiculous.

The simple fact is that for work I rely on I use OS X. You may be happy with Vista but for me it get in my way of getting things done. This isn't blind fanboism but is simply what works best for me.

Now you got a response from me so kindly go back to your PC and stop trolling the Apple forums.
