If it turns out for raster the 5080 is only 10-20% faster than the 4080, and the AMD 9070XT are ~4080 with slightly slower RT (especially customs as sounds like they can draw a lot more power), but half the price at around 500, the 5070Ti and 5080 are going to be very hard sales apart from Frame Gen and DLSS. Maybe some early insider info on this architecture is why AMD has gone the way they have?
I mean, I like DLSS, but I wouldn't pay £500 extra for it and 10-20% performance. That's not even your average graphics card tier which is usually 20-25% or so.
Benches and pricing are going to be king here.
Never seen so many 4090’s on eBayRight who’s blinking first and sticking their 4000 series on the MM
they all missed the small print on the 5070 slideNever seen so many 4090’s on eBay
Think they did, does make me wonder what affect it’s gonna have on the 4090 2nd hand market though.they all missed the small print on the 5070 slide
I would imagine the ones selling the 4090's are going for the 5090's. I cant believe many would fall for it with regards to the 5070 slide.Think they did, does make me wonder what affect it’s gonna have on the 4090 2nd hand market though.

They're either going for the 5090 or have decided they don't really need that performance and want to sell up to buy a somewhat equivalent card (5080) and bank some dough.I would imagine the ones selling the 4090's are going for the 5090's. I for one am out this time round but mainly due to not really gaming at the moment. (make some good games devs ffs).
No way it's 4080 performance for £500, it's more like 4070ti 12GB.It got 22k on timespyIf it turns out for raster the 5080 is only 10-20% faster than the 4080, and the AMD 9070XT are ~4080 with slightly slower RT (especially customs as sounds like they can draw a lot more power), but half the price at around 500, the 5070Ti and 5080 are going to be very hard sales apart from Frame Gen and DLSS. No frame gen on RTX below 4x seriesA lot of people are also not realising that all dlss features except 4xMFG is coming to older RTX cards
That means dlss and frame generation uses 2x image quality, higher dlss performance, lower input latency etc it's all coming to older RTX cards RTX cards you don't need to upgrade
When the new driver drops, all RTX cards wil get free higher performance and free higher image quality and free lower latency
This marketing BS makes me think the 5000 series will barely provide worthwhile performance gains.
If a 5070 using +3 fake frames tangles with a 4090 using 1 fake frame... it would actually just be close to half the real performance of the 4090.
Or worse, if the comparison is to a regular 4090 raster minus DLSS, that would make the 5070 even worse.
Oh and don't forget half the VRAM of the 4090... no way it'll get close in higher resolutions.
And no, dropping down oh so generously to $550 doesn't magically make it a good price. It's still at the garbage tier pricing that the 4000 series established.
Not every game supports it... but let's say it did. What if Nvidia force DLSS and FG in the drivers?
