5090 Price

Let's see who can get closest to the 5090FE price

I'll open with £2,499

With the green piggybank claiming it's not a gamers card but a productivity card, hence the price.

ps - no guesses from anyone who's got a mate at OCUK :D
If it is a productivity card then the price would be closer to 4K

It feels like something has gone very wrong with the GPU market when you can buy an entire high end laptop for less than the price of a new graphics card alone! Even the 5080 pricing sounds ridiculous if the leaked prices are to be believed!

If we had a normal, competitive market I feel they should have been
5080. £700
5090. £1000

My hope it will be no more than
5080. £1000
5090. £1750

But knowing Nvidia, it’s likly going to be
5080. £1600
5090. £2500

They will only get priced at what people are willing to pay for them
If people are willing to pay £2,500 then that what they will get priced at

Just like someone selling a secondhand 4090 is not going sell it for £500 when they have buyers willing to pay £1,000+

I don't blame Nvidia for the crazy prices i blame the people that pay them ;)

Gaming is more popular than it's ever been. Anyone else worried that high end gaming is becoming something only the ultra wealthy will be able to genuinely afford?

High end pc gaming has always been an expensive hobby, but still a sustainable one for those with a decent income. But with the pricing rumours of these new cards I'm starting to think things are shifting and ultra high end will ultimately be reserved for genuinely rich folk and stupid people.

How could we have a 5090 at that price when the BOM cost is so high? We'd be getting a substantially lesser product if it was "only" 1k IMO. It looks to me like Nvidia has thrown everything but the kitchen sink at the 5090.

If the 50x0 prices aren't at least 20% higher than the 40x0 prices, Nvidia would be eating the inflation - that isn't going to happen...

They should price the 5090 at £3000. As logic goes completely out the window for people buying these sort of cards anyway.

It's consumerism reaching Numptyland levels at that point.

the 90 cards are not made for general users, ones they would have been called titan and aimed at a different segment.
but if people will part with 2k for a gaming GPU why would NV not provide one

Has this ever not been the case?

People were sellotaping 2 1080ti cards together 7 years ago, and looking at the specs, a 5090 is just two 5080s sellotaped together :p

So much that it will continue to choke any graphics improvements in games. As the majority of gamers won't pay anywhere near that.

Stats show mid-range, even old gen mid-range is still by far the most popular. So that's what developers aim for.

I agree.

Add in that nvidia and amd have to devote so many resources to raytracing, no wonder graphics are so unimpressive compared to 2014. Meanwhile 2004-2014 represented a jump from essentially n64 graphics to what we have now.

Raytracing and massive prices = 3 grand for features you never use. Charming

this is how its going to work out:
jensen on 7th january: ........ and all this for a very reasonable msrp of 1899

people everywhere: thats great! much lower than the rumored 2600 price point, what a generous offer, here's my money in the pre-order queue
