5090 Price

NVIDIA and AMD Rush to Ship Next-Generation GPUs Ahead of Trump Administration Tariffs

Probably rubbish insofar as Nvidia are concerned as only MSI & Gainward make cards in China, most are made in Taiwan & Malaysia. It tends to be AMD brands that are manufactured in China.
Zotac & Inno3D moved their operation from China to Indonesia last month to avoid Trump Tariffs.

If it goes past 2.2k that's when I'm out.

One thing to wonder though is if Nvidia is so tight everything, why the 5090 is literally double the spec of the 5080? That would indicate to me the chip really dosnt scale well on the high end and so it needed to have this much to be a meaningful upgrade.

I'm unwilling to pay more than £3500. The more expensive the 5090 the better 4090 resale value (depending on whether the £1400 5080 beats 4090). Either way I'm in or out although have no pressing gaming need for 5090.

Not sure how anybody will be surprised if it is $2500

It's Nvidia, just look at their recent form and how this is a secondary income stream for them. A bit like a farmer having an Airbnb shepherd's hut.

Lets face it.. they can charge whatever they like for the top end part.. and although people are saying it's crazy, they will still sell out..

It's the more important cards, like the 5070 and 5060 where they need to get the price closer to console/reasonable..

To be fair a too end part last Gen at £1600 is pretty cheap. I mean how much would a top end speaker cost you... like 10k? Still it was so much better as a gamer knowing the top sku was only 10-15% better.

A top end speaker could literally last you decades if you took care of it, a top tier GPU depreciates faster than Usain Bolt by comparison and has a very limited usefulness window.

Exactly. That's the difference. Speakers and stereo gear will last for years.

For PC's the only things that would last are PC cases, unless they change the ATX spec. I could still use a old biege ATX PC case from decades ago.
Monitors also, PSU within reason also.
