5090 Price

Jensen's oven will not only be used to show off his shiny new RTX 5090 cards, but also to burn all the huge amounts of money he makes if the RTX 5000 series is as stupidly priced as rumour suggests (£2,500.00!?).

Brings a whole new element as to what is cooking in Jensen's oven for 2025 (wads of cash fuelled)…I bet there are people out there prepared to sell a kidney, for an Nvidia RTX 5090. Crazy times.

I don't think he cares that much about the price to gamers. Data centres is where nVidia makes most of it's revenue anyway.

Last time I checked, gaming was about 11% of it's revenue.

I just can't nor will ever get my head around £1k for a GPU, especially when I'm still rocking along quite happily with my (second hand) 1080ti...

Thankfully the majority of games I play are relatively old and thus no issue for my current setup, why bother upgrading?
Only upgrade if your system doesn’t do what you expect it to at the level you expect. I often try to stick to that but unfortunately suffer severe envy and FOMO when new gpus release.

Yeah it's pretty incredible my old Xeon still coped fine, games haven't progressed that much, I was still getting 90fps in Doom Eternal 1440p Ultra on a Xeon 5670.

Gaming is more popular than it's ever been. Anyone else worried that high end gaming is becoming something only the ultra wealthy will be able to genuinely afford?

High end pc gaming has always been an expensive hobby, but still a sustainable one for those with a decent income. But with the pricing rumours of these new cards I'm starting to think things are shifting and ultra high end will ultimately be reserved for genuinely rich folk and stupid people.
Whats the problem? Doesn't everyone on OCuk drive a Porsche these days?!

I wouldn't mind betting nvidia just fit the new gen cards in to the existing gen lineup like they did last time. So if the 5080 performs on par with the 4090 it will be on par on price then working down through the stack accordingly, then they'll just pick a price out of thin air for the 5090. My guess is the 5090 price starts with a 2.
The days of getting extra performance at the same price with a new gen seems to be over. At this point nvidia probably feel like they are doing PC gamers a favour producing cards at all when those waffers could have been used to milk the AI boom instead.

They are a business at the end of the day - their job is to make their shareholders richer, not gamers happy. But being a gamer doesn't stop you making money on Nvidia - if you'd spent the price of a 4090 on Nvidia stock instead when it launched, you'd be up enough not to care what the list price of a 5090 would be...

DOA! if this is correct. NVIDIA can go jump for £1600 for a 16gb card! that is insane for 2025!!

i think the 5070 ti will be a £1,000 card, just taker into account inflation on the 4070ti super and your passed £1,000.
£1600 for the 5080.... i dont know but £1400 id say right now its a £1000 for 4080 again just add inflation and thast will be the minimum price
