You don't need to force AA on. I thought I had to force it in CCC but turns out if I just use application settings it uses the in-game and looks much better.

Hey virus, I don't think it's a great result but I think that's just due to initial drivers with the 5870. Doesnt seem like you are getting much with crossfire.
Checkout my results same test earlier in this thread, you've got a better cpu than me and +1 5870. I get 23.5 / 38.27 min/avg, you get 29.6/47.8.
I think dual gpu performance is never great at launch with a new gpu, it will come with new drivers though.
Edit: I just ran the test again measuring CPU usage during the bench and CPU isn't the difference. Highest core was ~70%, 2nd 60%, 3rd 30%, 4th 20% so cpu isnt the limiting factor here.
Surely all other games were already flying with your previous cards, though? All you've done is spend £600+ to moan about how poorly coded Crysis is.Its not so much with any games its basicly crysis. it just doesnt like crossfire, it really is a pos crap coded game imho but the visuals are awsome
all other games i have are flying in crossfire
I don't think it's poorly coded. You only have to look at the visuals to realise there's nothing that can touch it atm. However I do think it's designed to perform less effective than nvidia hardware. Probably designed with nvidia coding in mind.Surely all other games were already flying with your previous cards, though? All you've done is spend £600+ to moan about how poorly coded Crysis is.
Remember kids, ATi is the price/performance option. *blank stare*
Amazing how often you hear the "Crysis is poor coded" excuse...from ATi users. Also, still seeing that same old ATi problem of inexplicable framedrops out of nowhere. Interesting!
Barring the lack of real performance loss when enabling AA, none of the results posted in this thread have been impressive. At the moment, numerous SLI setups are faster than 5870s in Crossfire; if upcoming drivers don't bring at least a 20% improvement, then I'm going to have to call the entire thing a disappointment.
Maybe because it's the best looking game that hasn't been conquered. Those benches are easy mode.Tbh i dont know why ppl are still bothering to use crysis to compare benchmarks results.
Imo the results are'nt much diff from the previous gen of cards.
Get some other benchmarks going like grid or dmc or even vantage
Crysis is the hardest test out there. You know pretty much everything else is gonna fly in comparison. That's why it gets tested first.I don't think it's poorly coded. anybody got one and using 3dsmax or maya?

I've got Maya, what did you want testing?
Use the DX9 and not the DX10 render, which I think is really only for the 3d stuff on Nvidia cards. Apparently the cut scene bug goes away then.Found a issue, think its driver related though so should be fixed in the final 9.10 version
when im playing resident evil 5
there seems to be a issue with the cutscenes. where the screen will go completely black.
hope this isnt a hardware issue.
the issue only happens sometimes though. so im thinking drivers.
