5870/5850 User Benchmarks, Thoughts & Feelings

Fixed my vantage problem guys, seems LG bluray drives have issues getting past 3dmarks system scan software so disable via device manager and presto works :)

seems about right, now i need to start overclocking these 2 cards WOOOOT
gonna wait on rivatuner getting updated first though :p

dont think my trusty BenQ 19" with a wooping 1280x1024 resolution will do

so how is the diffrent between the CD and the online? ati drivers? 10% faster or? hmm
 
ATi have really given it a good go around this time, all the benchmarks I'm seeing are fantastic! Considering it's a single card too, the concept of a 5870x2 just makes me smile.

Quite intrigued to see what the 5890 brings to the table in terms of ability and what nVidia's line up will consist of.

Virus is on Xfire 5870 btw. :p It's a nice Vantage score all the same.

Rivatuner is what I'm waiting on too so I can set variable fan speeds. The fan on this card is loudish even at 40%, compared to my old 8800GTX.

Not that much slower (even beating it in some), and can only get better when they get proper drivers, as only runnnig on beta's at present.

Check the reviews out in the big 5870 review thread to get an idea. :)

Not bad at all for a single card, more consistent, as it will run full pelt all the time, so no dropping back to a much slower card like the 295 will have to, when it comes across a game that hasn't been patched for its SLi yet.

Excellent stuff guys. But please , we are all begging for some 5850 benches too. Some of us peasants can only scrape the 5850. Will it be within touching distance of the 5870. ? Add your benches now 5850 users .....

I don't think anyone has a 5850 to test yet but i could be wrong though.
