5870/5850 User Benchmarks, Thoughts & Feelings

Not sure if this is good or bad, or i think i might have issues lol

Farcry 2 1920x1200 all maxed out 8xaa 16af

snip

minimum frames doesnt drop under 60fps.

teh figures are superb, but the graph colour scheme is offputting. It stays mainly red up until frame rates in the 80's - which is ridiculous. Red should be for below 30fps only and fully green from 60fps+ if its meant to reflect ideal conditions.

It makes complete sense, it's exactly what i feel. It does feel like a solid solid fast card and feels like cash well spent. I think it's definitely the most impressive card i've owned and lord knows i've had my share of gfx cards

+1, this is the most solidly built card I have ever owned.

Got the Sapphire HD 5870, not had very long to test the card, so far only tried Batman Asylum, NFS Shift and RE5 which all run flawlessly but then again thet did so on my GTX280 anyway.

GPU score in vantage was just over 17k which is decent for a single GPU.

Temps are great so far, 38C idle and 77C Load and no noticable noise from the card over my case fans which is just awesome.

Overclocking, only pushed to 900/1300, will overclock properly over the weekend.

Only problem, or minor issue I can think of is I couldnt get the card to clip into the PCI Expresss slot, was kind of worried something was blocking it at first but it seems ok held in by the screws. lol

Overall, Very good so far. :)

You don't need to replace it per say but they're amazing overclockers and that's at stock. Most people on here advise 3.4GHZ.

For benchmarking yes though I still see no need to replace it for general gaming. It's not that far behind an overclocked i7 system anyway really:

Dude, i prefer Users Benchmarks and Reviews...I don't like this reviews...

As you can see, the benchmarks of some users is

about min 20, avg 40FPs

And his CPUs not bootlenecking the HD5870

You have min of 15 and avg of 24FPs...Is too low...

If you put the CPU on 3,00GHz, the result will be very better...about the min 20 and avg 40...
