5D MKIII or 7D??? Please advise

At these prices though it's throwaway item really, gets scratched? fit another one! Plus you get a few in a pack anyway.

Not the point!!! im sure glass shouldnt scratch easily ,hmmm:)

Price i paid for the 5dmk3 was silly anyhow :D

At £20 each?

No thanks!

The expensive ones still get scratched just like how gorilla glass gets scratched given the right strike and angle. Makes more sense to buy 3 glass ones for £3 and replace them when needed. Pocket the savings for filters or whatever.

Ive bought a few of these screen protectors over the last month , i dont think their as good as they used to be, they say their glass but they seem to mark or scratch a bit, even with wiping prints off.

I put the top protector on but as its curved, it didnt look that good, so took it off.

Thats the one DigitelRev sent me

What's the deal with these screen protectors then?
Do they use some kind of adhesive to attach? Or are they able to wedge their way in somehow?

They changed it

Going forwards, I think the 5DII is the last Canon DSLR to feature replaceble rear LCD protectors. The 60D, 7D and 5DIII all feature the LCD being directly sealed into the back of the camera shell. Future repairs mean a whole LCD replacement...which is going to be costly.

so thats not true?

Of course you don't keep sending it in with every scuff, nor do you replace the protector with the same. The idea is if it cracks or has a deep scratch it is cheap to replace. If you sell it you can replace it cheaply. It is not a part of the camera that affect IQ anyway and adding a 3rd party protector only degrade the image on the LCD.

Well, true. I suppose if you've got money to blow, it's not an issue with a 1 - 3k camera. Can't say I've ever had problems with degrading picture quality of the screen. Otherwise, why would they make them when people have spent that much and want their gear in good condition, especially those that can be OCD with their prized possessions.

£12.50, you fail at internet :p

Will look into the chpeaer replacable ones.

Yes i dont understand Ray's stance on this when he's flogging a mk2 on another forum with a scratched rear screen.

I can't stand these protectors, they do degrade quality. Glare is the worst culprit with the glass ones, and the plastic ones just look exactly what they are, a cheap bit of plastic stuck on your screen. I've wasted a lot of money buying them for camera (and phone) in the past so won't be bothering with them ever again. It's all each to their own though :)

Wonder how much the touchscreens are like on my 650d :/ Mine should be safe for a while anyway with the protector on

I'll tell you one thing, the photos I'm getting on the 5D have much more depth than with the 40D, even at high ISOs the punch and depth is there whereas the 40D they still looked great given I used lower ISOs but this is just something else.
