5th May UK regional elections discussion and results

With all that's going on at the moment with cuts everywhere, the NHS row, allegations of dodgy tax deals etc I'm absolutely amazed at how well the Tories have done, particularly in Scotland.

Just goes to show how shambolic Labour is at the moment - this was a golden opportunity to give the Government a good kicking at the polls!

The ones declared are low, but all higher than 2012...

There's more elections happening this time. Last time they were held in November rather than alongside other elections. Once people have turned up to vote on one things, they're likely to do it in another so we should expect them to be higher. They're still strikingly low.

Well, I think it's because they are racist, sexist and homophobic knuckle draggers.

Oh FFS - not that old chestnut again

The fact that, according to you, everyone in UKIP is a 'racist, sexist and homophobic knuckle dragger' would presumably be why they have an LGBT wing, have a gay candidate for London mayor and regularly field black, Asian, mixed-race and female candidates?

If you're going to make claims about those you consider the enemy, try basing it on something approaching facts and not the crap regurgitated by the BBC, thugs like HNH and UAF or achingly-hip leftard 'comedians' on HIGNFY

Did you see who my response was to? It was to Cosimo - the statement above was an invitation for him to put forward a counter argument, which he has consistently failed to do (a point picked up on by TW[fox]), beyond "I shouldn't have to tell you, you should know".

I'm sorry if the finer points of debate confuse you. I'm sure there is a Crayola thread somewhere you can read instead.

100% of UKIPs MPs are white straight men tho.

You did label all UKIP supporters as racist homophobes though, I didn't see any nuance in that statement.

Blanket, inaccurate, accusations like that are not only offensive, but can cause real problems for people who agree with the views and policies of UKIP, but are gay or non-British themselves.

I've seen my brother vilified in LGBT communities that should be there as a support network to him for mentioning UKIP in a positive light.
Its a disgrace.

Sadiq winning 44% of first preferences to Zac's 35%. Labour leaking. The rest are set to pick up seats. The SNP is poked. And Labour is knocked back to 3rd in Scotland, it seems. A little break after this for yours truly, then back to the ref bash.

Fun times!

Anything but a proper proportional representation system that retains constituency locality is pretty none democratic, I voted against the pos offering that was put forward in the vote for "proportional representation".
