Which is more stressful than 1280x960, hehe. As I said, 1280x960 and above is a no-go with 50fps+ from what I've seen. Drops to 38fps @ 1600.easyrider said:I'm only interested in WS res mate

If I were you, I'd stick to a single card solution - that's a lot of money.
Doppleganger said:Well if you have the money..
It's not good value IMO. I'd wait until the price of 7900 GTXs come down before getting another one at the price they currently are.
It will boost your fps but outside in grassy areas with everything on (and I game at 1680 x 1050 with HDR) Oblivion will still bring your rig to it's knees. It's cpu limited in many places. Extra gpu power can only do so much.

the game just is ahead of its time?

I have just replaced a X1900XT-X with 7900GTX SLi
I game at 1920x1200 on a Dell2405. I mostly play COD2 online and Oblivion at the moment.
The difference on COD2 with SLi was extremely good. I can max out all the settings with no problem, I couldn't get any where near that with the X1900XT-X card.
I have to reserve judgement on Oblivion at the moment, as I have only tested it for about 5-10 minutes. First impressions are favourable though, the framerates were a lot higher. I'm sure there will be some lag somewhere, but at least I know there's nothing else I can do about it!

As i reported earlier, no single card plays Oblivion with maxed settings in outdoor areas at acceptable FPS
Gorod said:If somebody wants to try my Demo i been using in Oblivion u can download my Save file here , place it here : C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves , set every single graphics setting in game Menu to MAX . , Load FRAPS , Load save , Don't move mouse or anything else !!! , press F11 to start fps logging and imediately press "Auto Run/walk" hot key , press F11 again when game character reaches the big rock ahead . I'd be interested to see others Frap results are for these settings.

2> 1280x1024 0AA+16AF+HDR
What do you get?
